Default Rain Gutter Installation

I just found out that Stipes is only doing new home construction rain gutter installation (they are working at Feeney for example), and are not doing installations up here. They recommended Hills and I am wondering if anyone has used Hills recently (or any other rain gutter installation service) and might have some feedback.

Thanks!

Stipes did work for me in November. If this is true, it's something that just came about. I'm curious, did Stipes tell you this?

Yes. Just got off the phone with him before my posting. Had an appointment for a quote and he called and apologized for canceling as we were outside the area that they are currently servicing. Apparently they are focusing on new home construction down by Feeney. He referred me to Hills.

Thanks for your note. Out of curiosity, any issues with rusting of the nails? I did do a search and saw a couple of negative posts about Hills, one of which claimed that the nails used were rusting out and that when they called Hills back, were told that they needed to do maintenance on the nails. I don't know the veracity of the claim, and I do recognize that not everyone will be 100% in agreement, hence my request for information.

We used M&M. Great quality and reasonable price. Never heard a negative about them.

Edited. I can't find a link. Perhaps they retired?

Thank you for replying to my question. I have to assume Stipes knows what's best for them.

Have had no rust or any other problems period. I wouldn't recommend someone I had a problem with.

It’s true what the others have said about Stipes. Jim Stipes has become very independent lately and would prefer for you to use his competitors because he can’t, or won’t, perform his services when you need him to. Possibly because he is interested in new Village construction more than old customer referrals and new customers? I found this out after I requested a quote from him. Jim actually told me to call Hills at one point because he is too busy and his wife in the office would only schedule me for two months out if I wanted to use them.

His prices also now reflect his new attitude ...$250 to dig a gutter drainage ditch under my sidewalk/rock bed into the yard and $2 a foot now for 5” guttering compared to $1.50 a short time back when he did my neighbors home.
