Default Recommendation for internet only provider

We're buying a CYV in the village of Briar Meadow and are looking for a recommendation for an internet only provider. i've read posts about Comcast and CenturyLink, but wanted to ask about this area.

We’ve only had Comcast since we moved here and it’s been very reliable. We have a bundle that doesn’t break down the cost, so I really don’t know how much we’re paying for Internet part.

Comcast has been bullet proof for us.

I'm in Springdale and have had century link for over a yr...
and no outages.. I have 80mbps on a pre-pay plan for "life" for $45 a month .. It's nice knowing I don't have to bargain with the different companies every year for a better rate

When we had only Comcast internet (no bundle), it was $60+/month. When we came back last November, we went with Century Link at $45/month, no contract. We've had no problems at all with Century Link.

Thanks for the suggestions, much easier now to check out just 2 vendors. Excited about moving over the next few weeks but, boy, it sure is challenging learning everything all over again about a new place: service providers, trash pickup day, rec centers, stores, etc. Have learned from this forum that the VCDD will also be a good resource.

We have Comcast only no TV package. I negotiated it to $80 a month for 150 speed. I am on the computer a lot and never have it be slow and rarely does it go out and if so only for at the most 5 to 10 minutes. Even during Irma we didn't lose it.

I've had both Comcast and CenturyLink Fiber. I've had no issues with either. You don't want CenturyLink DSL - very limited in performance, and can be problematic - only look at fiber. The issue I had with Comcast was that they would start with an introductory price, then nearly double it once the year was up. I started at $45 for 150 MB, then they were going to raise it to $80. I switched to CenturyLink 1 GB (That is 1000 MB!) Fiber for $65/month - price guaranteed for life.

We now stream everything - got rid of DirecTV after 20 years - so bandwidth and speed are necessities to support multiple TV's streaming shows and live TV.

We are in Woodbury. When we moved we found a new resident special from Comcast for $19/mo for 1 year. It provides 25 Mbps down. There is a 1 terabyte per month limit though. After that you pay $10 for each additional 50 Gb.
