Question Reliable mechanic

Can anyone seriously recommend a good mechanic who can do all sorts of car repairs at a reasonable rate?

I've been pleased with the work done by Tri-County Automotive in Lady Lake. They're close to Lowe's on the same side of 27/441. They don't do everything, but I find them to be honest and fair. Their phone number is 753-5400

Default reliable car mechanic

well it finally happened..Rick's old blue work van finally died in our driveway and would not start..she is a real relic and tempermental to say the least.
We called a mobile car mechanic and let me tell you this guy was GREAT!!!
He stayed till he got the old girl running and was VERY REASONABLE!
He went the extra mile and also did a few things to tweak old bessie and keep her on the road. In my opinion we have found a new mechanic for the old girl and she is running like a dream..
This guy does everything right in your drive way!
I would highly recommend his services he has been in the area servicing marion co and surrounding areas since about 1993.
I GIVE THIS FELLA 3 THUMBS UP!!!
on time...great prices..very very knowledgeable/consumer friendly!!!

What I don't know about auto mechanics would fill a book but so far I've been favorably impressed with Sumter Tire and Auto, just over the bridge going to Wildwood. They've been fast, reasonable, and haven't once tried to sell me something I didn't need.

Default She died

Thank God my Buick blew a intake in the parking lot next to The Villages instead of out somewhere that was too far away.

I very carefully drove it home without overheating and now it sits in my driveway until I find someone that I can believe won't rip me off.

I thought it was the radiator hose but after checking see that it was the bypass connection and had cracked being made of plastic.

I called Goodyear thinking it was the radiator and they said o repace radiator hose would be about $100...

I have decided to call some of your recommendations as now I know what to tell them and can compare prices before..... BEING SURPRISED!!

Thanks again fellow Villagers for all your help!

Default You do the math...

Had Intake Elbow Hose break on my Buick and as per your suggestions I check around and found price from Tri County Automotive $150 + tax, then I called Hilton Automotive which was also $150 + tax

I then called MICHAEL AUTO REPAIR and talked to Stephanie and she said she would call back with price. Within 3 minutes she called back with price of $100. I had AAA deliver it there and after picking it up got a TOTAL bill including tax of $98. Also talked to Michael and could not have found a better mechanic as to skills, personality and.... price!! You can bet I will take any further problems to him!!

PS Tell him the guy with the convertable "Mercedes" with the chevy engine sent you. You just might get even a "better" deal

Well I cannot say them same for Michael's. My mother needed some work done to her car. Just some routine maintenance and when he was done with it, it cost her over $600.00 and then he informs her he does not take credit cards and she had no idea it was going to be that much. Just be careful with this guy if you are a women take a man with you so you get a better price.

Smile Lets clarify!!

Just to inform anyone thats reads loveflorida"s comment I would love to clarify some of these comments. #1-we do take credit cards and always have so I don't know where that came from.(look in the yellow pages of your phone book)#2 we have always notified all of our customers of the cost of the repair before any repair is made via phone.(even if its only a $10 dollar repair) #3 we only repair what the customer requests is- in other words we don't try to sell them something they don't need.(as far a general maintenance is- having a timing belt etc can be alot more expensive and that is general maintenance with vehicles that have timing belts!) #4 we would love to know what general maintenace that your mother requested and do you really know what her problem was! We have always satisfied all of our customers and we stand behind all of our work! As always a customers satifaction is guaranteed!!!!

Based on recommendations on this forum I took my mother's car to Mike's Auto Repair in Fruitland Park for a freon leak. That was what the problem was and they repaired it for $49. Very satisfied customer. Will go back.

Son had an oil leak in his 96 Chevy truck. Hubby was going to take it to the dealers and made an appointment for Wednesday. Then I remembered reading about "Michael's" here on the board(did a search). So I told Hubby to give him a call. He called him around 1:00P.M. and was told to bring it in now. So he and my son ran it down and work was completed this afternoon. Both hubby and son pleased with service and price. Cancelled the call to the dealer, so can go golfing Wednesday instead. Love this website, and thanks for hooking us up with Michael's. Boy did I make brownie points with the men in my house today.

Default Auto Repair

I have used Vaughn's Tire Service just past Rolling Acres Road on Rt.466, on the right hand side. He is honest, and many times makes adjustments or small repairs without asking for a dime. His mechanics are trustworthy as well. I would recommend him.
