Default Replacing a lanai sliding door with a Wall

Got an estimate for about $5000....anyone have this done?

Is that a decent price?

make sure you check with ARC for approval and then check with the building department for required permits, etc. You need to personally get the ARC approval, and your contractor must get the permits. The sliders are probably considered an emergency exit, if you remove them and replace with a wall, you may need to provide an alternative emergency exit, and there am be other concerns when turning this into a wall.

My house has a front door, garage door, and three sliding doors for exiting, so if you have something similar, the exit requirement may be okay. But, if you get a permit and build a wall, you will probably need to install an electrical outlet to comply with the electrical code. If so, $4,000 is in the ballpark, if they match the interior and exterior wall surfaces.
