I have to ask, what happened to the original door? If it does not open easily, the rollers can be replaced.

It's a long story. There are several large scratches in the door.

AH, I understand, if you go to Google and type in 'pocket door removal' you will get lots of information. Hope this helps. If you do not have success in getting anyone to help, send me a PM I may be able to help you.

And in the future, don't use long screws in the pocket wall.

Ha! Good insight, and a mental image of the issue.

I tend to work (too) fast when doing home projects and such, and could easily see ME doing a 'measure once- cut immediately' thing....hanging a picture in the wall containing the pocket with a 2"long screw...

BTW the fix -rather than a new door install- may be easier if the door is simply repaired while affixed - if it's just scratches, fill, sand, paint.

My pocket door had several long, deep scratches.

A handyman purchased a pocket door at Ro-Mac Lumber and replaced the door. He did a very good job and we thought the price was reasonable.

Just have to paint the door now.

Thanks for all your replies.

Just replaced several doors in my CYV with " solid doors " and used my longtime Handyman Dave Wilt . Always great work , responsive and excellent pricing . His email is : dwilt65@gmail.com and his number is 352-470-7917 .
Dave is in the Villages pretty much 6 days a week . He also offers a Home Watch Service . He saved me last year when the hurricane hit . I was then living in a Designer and out of town . Dave secured my home , came back right after the storm , cleaned up and repaired some minor damage and kept me updated all the way .
He will hang Holiday decorations , items on your wall any number of small or larger tasks . When I sold the Designer , Dave made sure everything in the home was imperfect order for the Home Inspection and the incoming owner . In fact , the new owner has hired Dave for Home Watch and odd jobs . Good luck !

Default Handyman

Jim Dave Wilt came out and secured my home after Irma also. He can do almost everything, he is a trained commercial electrician. He can also fix those beeping smoke detectors also. Len & Mary
