Default REPLACING or UPDATING KITCHEN CABINET DOORS?

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to update original cabinet doors inexpensively?

Heres a pic of kitchen BEFORE we bought the house...

The Villages Florida

and then....after painting and glazing cabinets ..and adding a new sink, faucet and counter top

The Villages Florida

what we did was..prime them white..painted them a light cream, and then rub them with a votive candle..this gives the paint a waxy finish..now..we put a glaze over them..it comes in a plastic container at Lowes...it is put on with a damp rung out washcloth....let it dry and add new hardware..
Of course this old world look isnt for all..you can always put new doors on and paint them all white..if that is the look you want.

looks to be a much smaller frig also.

I'll tell my wife (the house painter) about using a votive candle - learn something new every day
