Rent a car. Leave when you want. Arrive when you want and usually less expensive.

Your flight destination has nothing to do with reliable transportation options. But I suppose how long you are gone does. The shorter your trip, the more cost effective it is to drive yourself because you only have to pay to park for a few days. If you plan to be gone for an extended period of time, take the Workman airport shuttle. Very dependable and always friendly, professional, and usually right on time. The service leaves from LSL and Brownwood several times per day and you can arrange for home pick-up and drop-off if someone is not available to give you a ride. If you are traveling alone, this is the most cost effective way to go. Otherwise, there are many Villagers that operate private, door to door, transportation services that are very convenient and cost effective for travel parties of 2 or more.

You can hire one way in TV for just over $100 for the day.
Drop at airport, leave and arrive in your own time.
Do it every year, and for the few $$ more than the shuttles, definitely the most reliable, and convenient.

We always use Bill Nims. Village resident with door to door service. Same price as other shuttles. His number is 352-454-5985.

I'm new to the Villages and was planning to use Groome Transportation for $19 per person to Orlando MCO. Has anyone used them?

Search the TOV threads about Groome. Never used them, but based on what I have read, stay away.

Used them once (so far). On time, very friendly, new equipment.

Will use again.

Default Airpport Transportation

The news guys in town are Groome Transportation and I looked them up and found that they are nationwide and well capitalized.

They just started in February and I have used them 7 times . All new Ford Vans ( not buses) , good website , easy reservations , door to door service for just $19.

They have GPS system that lets customer know how far from your house the driver is for pickup. Kind of like UBER.

The tolls and gas let alone parking are more than $19

Workman is going to have a hard time matching Groome

A lot of negative people who posted on those threads were 'agent provocateurs' who had an agenda, and were probably employees of the oposition shuttle services..
Many were newly registered posters, and never seen again.
Nearly all who had used them, and posted, were very high in their praise of the firm.
