Default Sewing machine repair

I purchased a vintage sewing machine badly in need of cleaning, lubricating and adjustment. TOTV recommends led me to Al Danis of Al's Vac & Sew, a Village resident with major experience. He is truly a treasure! Thank you TOTV for the recommend. And Al for such a great job! Al's number is 352.751.0369.

Is this the fellow who was written-up in The Sun a few years who repaired Singer's for many years?

If so, I seem to recall that one of our service clubs provided old (but working) Singer's to a girl's training school in Haiti to help train them to make-a-living. I don't recall the details of the story, but recall that I was very impressed with the fellow's ability in lending his skills to a worthy project.

Does anyone else remember that story?

Best,
Casey
