Default So, I'm new and I need...

I've looked all over and can't find a few things I need, like a really good guy to look at my car: brakes, change my oil...I need a carpenter and called one recommended by The Villages Workshop, they are booked 3 months out, and the other one didn't even bother to return my call...I need a good painter. I'm probably going to have the same problem there, right? Everyone is so busy here in The Villages, so I know I've moved to a good place. Now if I could just get my home in shape, lol. Suggestions welcomed...even begged for.

Not sure on the others, but for a painter I'd highly recommend Oscar's Painting (he has a website). Decent price, outstanding work. Good luck

Default Great mechanic

I was lucky to find Steve at Martel Automotive in Bellevue. 352-753-5400. He is at 6105 SE Hames Rd, Belleview, fl 34420. He is honest and very good with everything we have taken to him.

When I moved to TV in 2011 I had 20 pages of notes. I was able to have the painter start the day after closing before the furniture arrived. The handyman was putting knobs on the kitchen cabinets and double shelving my master closet that same week. The way I was able to accomplish this was by using 'Search' feature at the top of the website. If you start a thread everytime you want to find information, that's awful long time and a lot of replies. Just remember, with 115,000 people in TV, every question has already been asked at least once.

A simple search and you'll get results immediately that might of taken weeks with your thread. So look for this button at the top

The Villages Florida

In the meantime, for painters I would suggest either Oscar or Investment Painting. For a mechanic I would recommend Accutech on 301 just north of Wildwood. For handyman, we used Tim 'The Toolman' Miller, but he is now only doing garage floors, so you'll have to find that one on your own.

For a handyman, I would recommend Tony, who advertises as your "Mr. Fixit". He is adept at small and/or larger jobs. I was very happy with his service and price. His telephone number is 941 780-1105.

To complete the geographical triangle for a recommended auto mechanic, Mike's Auto Service in Fruitland Park is my go to mechanic for prompt and reasonably priced service.

We've been very pleased with Wildwood Tire on 44. Close to 301.

Another vote for Wildwood Tires. Watched them rebuild a 57 Chevy. The guys know their stuff for both old and new cars and prices are fair.

Yep, it’s an old school repair shop. Not dirtbags.

Sumter Tire and Auto in Wildwood. Excellent service , honest, and very reasonable. Stay clear of Tire Choice at Colony. They have a reputation for ripping Villagers off.

I had a terrible experience with Omar and would not recommend him. Stick with Investment Painting. They painted my complete interior and exterior. They may be out a ways but well worth the wait.
