I must find a wireless carrier other than AT&T. I know Verizon reception is good here in The Villages but our phones are compatible with T-Mobile. Can anyone comment on the T-Mobile wireless reception here?

If you don't want to buy a new phone, you may as well try T-Mobile. Other than AT&T, I don't think you have another choice. Cell phone carriers no longer require a term contract, so you can cancel at any time. If you have Comcast internet service, Xfinity Mobile is a great deal that uses the Verizon network. But you would need a new phone.

I have had T-mobile since November coming from Verizon. Is it perfect? No. But I didn't find Verizon perfect either. Is it good value for the money? I think so.
I got three lines with unlimited data/voice/text, a free phone that was an $800 value, and T-mobile assumed my Netflix subscription ($15/mo). Monthly cost is a flat $120 since the tax is built into the fee unlike Verizon. For comparative purposes, if you factor out the value of the phone and Netflix, my cost per phone line is $23.89 over 24 months. I also know I can always go back to Verizon or any other carrier at anytime if T-mobile service doesn't suit me. There is no contract and the only cost if I drop them before 24 mos is the pro-rated pay off of the phone. |

We've been T-Mobile customers for many years. In 2010, reception in The Villages was spotty at best. Over the years they have improved their signal and we have upgraded our phones. Now we are very satisfied with T-Mobile here and everywhere we travel. They also provided us with a cell spot for an improved home signal. And, their customer service has always been great.
Visit a local store, they have various plans and a 55 and over plan...two lines unlimited talk/text/data for $70 with auto pay. |

Run fast from T-mobile. I don't know anyone who's happy with their service. Had them 10 yrs and once in the Villages couldn't use it. Dropped calls no bars terrible. Switched to Cricket 5 years ago and couldn't be happier. Never have a problem.

There are 4 basic networks for cell phone service: Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Verizon is independently rated as being the best cell network year after year after year, for at least 20 years. To me, this is a no brainer. Why would anyone choose to use any network except Verizon? And, why don't the other 3 networks improve their system to perform as well as the Verizon network, or just go out of business? I don't get it.

My AT&T works well except here in The Villages. The AT&T signal was good until 2 years ago. I don’t know what happen and the local AT&T customer service staff don’t seem to care. If they don’t improve their signal soon, I’m gone too. Likely would go with Verizon.

Up north I used AT&T for years with great coverage everywhere. When I moved to TV coverage went down hill. After six months of this I switched to Verizon. Big improvement.

I switched to T-Mobile 18 months ago and regret it. I can't even get coverage in THEIR OWN STORE in Spanish Springs. I can't get service on the patio at Demshar's, Sonny's, or under ANY metal roof. Pathetic.

We get 5 bars on T-Mobile in our home in Winifred. There are spotty areas and it does fade out more readily than others inside buildings, but by and large its ok. Verizon would probably be better, but for the price, T-Mobile works fine for our purposes. Having a newer phone capable of receiving the 600 and 700 MHz bands that T-Mobile began rolling out a couple of years ago will help.
