Default tax extentions

we were due to get our taxes done by AARP in the villages is there any one in the Villages that can help us get an extention?

They have extended to tax date to July 15th.

I think you still have to file by 4/15 but if you owe, payment is extended to 7/15?

You can avoid paying till July and by filing an extention not file the return till then also.

Why sit down and risk exposure meeting your Cpa now when you can wait

Payment Deadline Extended to July 15, 2020 | Internal Revenue Service
My reading of this is you must either file a return or for an extension by April 15th. Just do not think you have a three month extension to do anything.

As of this morning, the filing deadline has also been moved to July 15

Just heard an announcement on television tax filing deadline moved from April 15 to July 15.

Government just extended the deadline till July 15th, because of the virus financial crisis.

You don't need an extension. The tax filing deadline has been changed (this year only) from April 15th to July 15th. If you haven't had your taxes prepared by July 15th, then you can get a 6-month extension. An extension does not give you longer time to pay - your taxes must be paid by the filing deadline.
