I live in a patio villa and have a VERY LARGE tree in front. The roots are starting to lift my patio stones in the yard and one of the roots seems to be following the street gutter going down the road. Do I need an approval from ARC to take it down? I hate the idea of taking down a tree but I don’t think anything can be done about the roots.

Always best to get ARC approval regardless. Unlikely that they would deny work if tree roots are found to be likely to cause structural damage. Roots can be cut and stopped, but they are there for a purpose and doing so may make tree itself more liable to fall in a storm.

The owner, Francois, is a certified arborist and quite knowledgable. The price was much more reasonable than some of the estimates we got and I couldn't be happier with the result. After seeing the quality of their work, several of my neighbors have hired them as well.

The best way to go about this problem is to hire one of the certified arborists who are known to TV to take a look at the tree, if it needs attention they will do the necessary work with the ARC.
