All attorneys are not equal, make sure you have a certified elder attorney. Mary Trotter is one I know of and recommended to me by a close personal friend that is an attorney. Her contacts should be easy enough to come by.

We had a problem with Jeff Skates. High charges and it takes months for him to generate the paperwork.

Another endorsement for Mary F. Trotter. I used her for my trust and some estate planning. AARP members get a discount. She is an "elder law" certified attorney and often gives estate planning seminars in the area for AARP. Contact info for her firm is 352-205-7245. She is in TV phone book. Office address, if you need it, is 13940 US 441, Suite 210, TV 32159.

Default What to do for finding the right attorney

Hi, one of the best ways to findout the right estate attorney is, search them through online lawyer directories. You can also search them via Google or even from Yellow pages. Just make sure that you are hiring the right attorney to handle your mother-in-law estate matters. You can also take the help of help of any lawgroup as they usually have the access of qualified and professional estate lawyers.

If you do go to Mary Trotter, please DO NOT let Mr. Goodwin handle the estate. He is absolutely, positively awful! We went to Mary Trotter's office thinking we were going to get her services. Instead, we got Mr. Goodwin's services. Thinking he was affiliated with Mary, we thought it would be OK. Bad, bad mistake. After a year (for a VERY easy estate), making many follow up calls requesting a status (he doesn't return calls, either), doing much of the legwork ourselves and then realizing how much he overcharged us, we learned our lesson. And to those who will ask, no we didn't discuss this with Mary Trotter as we didn't want to "rock the boat" while the estate was being handled and when the estate was finally settled, we were so frustrated that we didn't want to re-open the wounds.

Mary Trotter, professional, pleasant, punctual, reasonable charges, will answer ALL questions asked, as well as informing you of those you may have been unaware of.
