We are growing tired of using bottled water but can't tolerate the taste/smell of the water. Not interested in a water softener as taking a shower and washing the cloths/dishes is not an issue. Can anyone give me a ball park cost on having a whole house Nova filtration system installed? Also, who would you recommend for the installation? Thanks

Filters all the water coming into the house removing all the sediment( which clogs your pores ) and all the chlorine ( which dries out your skin and hair). Also softens your laundry and your whites come out white in your laundry. One other great benefit is you can drink the water throughout your entire house safely. Plus no need for a fridge filter anymore! Most people do not find a need for a water softener once the Nova Whole House Filter system is installed. Though the option is always available to add a softener if desired. |
As far as i am concerned this is the biggest scam on newbies that move here. to listen to them talk and test your water every on that drinks the water here is killing themselves. Wait until you here the deal you will be getting. Pucker up.

Do NOT confuse the NOVA system with any of those companies that harass you the first week you buy your new Villages home. I will not name those companies...many of you know who they are. I will advise anyone who buys a brand new home in The Villages to beware of any high pressure sales pitches from anyone.
Folks, it is simple. This is not a 3rd world country. The water coming out of your faucet is safe.....it will not kill you. Folks who live in The Villages for a long time drinking the water are not statistically dying sooner from the water they drink. That being said...many folks prefer drinking and using filtered water. If you are one of those folks, you can buy many different filtration systems.....at all different price points and all different levels of filtration. After doing a good amount of research, I, being one who preferred having a whole house filter system, chose the filter system from NOVA. I felt it did the most "bang for the buck". The three filter cartridges that come with the NOVA system does everything I need. Yes, there are more expensive filtration systems but I was not willing to pay hundreds or even thousands more for a filter that may or may not be any better. Bob and his son Brad are local residents who sell , install and stand behind their filter system. I think the price, for what you get, installed and everything, is very reasonable. I personally do not like softened water. Some folks of course do. NOVA also sells a softener system if you want one for MUCH less that the high pressure folks. Brad and Bob are not high pressure....they do not need to be. There business comes mainly from the word of mouth from satisfied neighbors. They never come to your home unless you call them, and they do not do fancy and sometimes deceiving water tests designed to scare you into buying something. In short, they are good people who sell a good product at a reasonable price. They stand behind their work and their product. I am one of their satisfied customers. I only post this because I did not want anyone to confuse them with the "high pressure" companies. Respectfully, Frank D. |

we have the NOVA system also...installed it just about a year ago....very pleased with it. I most likely will have NOVA come back to install the softener that they carry to take care of the calcium. Recently a young lady came to the house to conduct a 'free water test' (we responded to a post card, the name of the company seemed to suggest that it was connected with the city water department, it's not)....the test showed zero chlorine in the water coming out of our house tap. However she went on to 'trash' the Nova system saying that it wasn't doing anything, used some scare tactics and advised us that we should rip it out and install her $6K model... hello young lady! What her test results did show is that the hardness was 9 on a scale of 0-10 (0 being the target)...this of course is subject to her tests actually being valid.

Water in the Villages is excellent. Check with the State for a copy of our water analysis. It comes directly out of natural spring from the Florida aquifer just like zepherhills bottled water does, only difference is chlorine is added to ours. Just let it sit for 30 minutes it's and the chlorine smell dissipates. Don't waste your money. I am a licensed water operator so know what I'm talking about and do not work for the Villages, work for the FDEP. Don't waste your money on a service you don't need. These people are trying to scare you so you'll buy their product and your neighbors don't know what the facts are because they bought into it. Get the analysis required yearly of all water departments from the State.
