Default Window Replacements

I am looking for a recommendation for contractors who do window replacement. Our home has 8 single pane windows and I am looking at replacing those windows with double pane, energy efficient windows. I am wondering if anyone can comment with approximate costs per window. Thank you.

OP, cost will vary depending on the home construction, mobile, modular, wood, poured concrete, block, as well as the type of window. You may want to add some details to get better replies. Also are you interested in a particular type of window and window construction, vinyl, wood, aluminum for example. I did my own up north, the original windows were an odd size, which meant a LOT of filler wood and smaller replacement windows. I realized the width was a standard size, and if a made the opening 3 to 5 inches longer (depending on the window) I could use standard windows which were 1/3 the cost of custom windows. Replaced 10 single pane aluminum windows with double pane vinyl windows for around $120 to $150 per window, and my labor.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I won't be replacing them myself and am hoping to see some references for companies/contractors that sell various models and can install.

Default Window World in 2018

I had Window World replace 6 single pane windows in ranch-style home (Amarillo) in 2018 at a cost of $600/window all costs included. I went with them over RoMax and Lowe's due to features I wanted at a slightly lower cost and the fact they used their own full-time installer who'd done a number of similar jobs in The Villages. Took him about 5.5 hours to do the job. The inspector said he'd seen some very unprofessional installations but he liked the job done on our house.

Thank you very much! I just had one quote that was $11,350.00 and felt that was outrageous.
