for those who have changed from Comcast to Direct, did Direct have to do any additional cabling or use the connections already on and in the house?

Changed over from Comcast to Direct TV. Was paying Comcast about $240 a month for bundled TV, Internet and Phone. Now paying (after 3 months discounts up) about $160 for similar service. Break out is $105 for TV, $39 for Comcast internet and $20 for AT&T full coverage. AT&T has a box that you can attach to your phone plus the regular land line phones but it uses your cell phone for connections and you keep your regular land line number and the $20 covers local and long distance calls. Have a savings of about $80+ a month and also get their [Direct TV] Genie for all TV's which allows to record in any room and can play back on any one of the other 4 TV's in the house. In addition get a much much better picture. Did not have Dish put on roof as that may harm roof warranty but had it set up outside of house out of view. Service is terrific and if you have a question they will answer phone within a few minutes. Have had very few weather interruptions and no more than 0-3 minutes if they happen. Just switch to SD. Don't loose anything. Change over from Comcast to Direct TV was easy. Hardest part was finding AT&T option. Made sure that when I returned the equipment and cut off Comcast TV I sent a letter, return receipt to Comcast identifying exactly what equipment returned. In addition I bought a Modem/Router box so I did not pay rental for one to Comcast. All is working fine and could not be happier.

I have had Direct TV for a couple of months. Fantastic improvement over Comcast for TV. I am awaiting the day I can "cut the cord" with Comcast for their internet service.
