Default Are you happy with your garage floor?

Did you epoxy, paint, etch or do something with your garage floor? Are you happy with it? Has it held up or is it peeling? Would you recommend the people that did it?

Epoxy, love it. Looks like new. Slippery when wet.

Used Sherwin williams epoxy. Seems to hold up real well (done last july 4th). I hihly recommend me, but I'm not available. Tedious process, but not an impossible DIY.

Epoxy done by Ram Custom Design. Excellent job (prep work is very important and they did a great job). Easy to keep clean, very hard to chip even when you drop something heavy. We love it!

Amy Newsome did a great job. It is a stain, but not sealed on the garage floor.

Default preparation

Did mine own but preparation is the key. Concrete must be prepared well with an acid cleaner for best results IMHO. I would ask about the preparation process with each contractor. Yes, it does get slippery when wet so be careful not to fall. Flakes and other abrasives help but unless you do something extra ordinary be very careful.

Try a commercial grade outdoor carpet. Works great and cheaper than other methods.

It's a garage floor. I never entertain in the garage, just work on stuff, change my oil, fix things, build things, etc. I'd rather spend that money on parts of the house that we'd enjoy more than a garage. Just how I feel.

We had our driverway done in 2008 and it is peeling. We think we'd be better off with pavers. But, your garage flooring by Costless sounds promising?

The work on our driveway and gargage done in 2008 by Total Textures, Inc. is peeling and fading. They did our lanai too. We are happy with that. It is just painted. But, we did put sliders out there.

Default Yep

We had carpet removed in house and replaced with laminate. My hubby removed the carpet the night before laminate installers came and we now have wall to wall in our garage!! Love it.

Do you want your garage floor to look good or be dangerous to walk across? If you seal the floor it will be slick. I agree with another post who said its a garage! Driveways that are painted and the Florida sun don't get along. Personally, I wouldn't paint or seal a driveway----although they look good for a while!

We also used Costless Driveway for our garage, lanai, driveway and sidewalk. Fred was great and we loved the final product. Highly recommend them.

Because we have a CYV with the laundry out there, I decided to tile the garage. I have some experience with tiling and this job actually was easier than I thought it might be. I shopped around and got a very good deal on porcelain, non-slip tile. I think porcelain is essential to prevent heavy vehicle damage. We are very pleased with the results. So easy to keep clean, so permanent, so classy looking!
