hello again 5 years later, wife and I are both retired, our home is for sale, we are half packed and ready to move down to the Villages, I think we have decided to look at the old section, preferably silver lake or orange blossom, so as soon as the house sells we are on our way. My wife has to pay 354.00 a month on obamacare, she just retired March 1. Are you still loving the villages? We cant wit till we can come down there. Hope everything is going good for you folks.

Sounds like you and your wife are just like us... The insurance policy for me is about 350.00 a month.. I am not sure if all companies are like the one where my husband is working... But insurance for family or I should say just spouse ...is very expensive..About 230.00 A WEEK!! Can you believe it.. If we do it for just him... 81.00 per week.. And we have to wait for June when they have enrollment.. Then we have to hope he does not get denied..
Do you already have a house here? Other than the insurance issues we love it here.. I wish my husband was not working but that wont be happening for a while..
As for jobs.. we have found they are few and far between.. My husband is a service advisor ..at a car dearlership. He did that for several years back in NY... You can check out career builder for job availability ...

I am 61 and my wife is 57, have you asked how much your policy would cost by yourself, and what kind of cost does your hubby have to pay? I am retiring from my regular job in December , so I may have to look for a job that pays benefits for both of us , while my wife has to keep working up here until I find something. What type of work does your hubby do? Is there a possiblity that they are hiring ?

I do understand.. we are here now from NY.. We had great insurance with my company and never dreamed it was going to be a problem when we got here.. wow what a shock!! My husband has one stent it was put in about 13 or 14 years ago.. He never had a heart attack... but we cannot get him insurance.. That is doing it on our own.. He is working and the company offers it but it is very expensive.. we are going to have to take it for him... not me.... but inrollment is not till June!!... I am getting a seperate policy.. it is all very stressful don't know about the obamacare but I would check it out first... It may depend on your age.. I am 56 my husband is 61..

My wife and I want to find out the costs of health insurance also. I have 3 stents, but as I understand the new Obamacare they cant deny you because of pre-existing conditions. We are wantong to quit our jobs to move to the villages but since we are middle of the road incomes, cost is a huge concern for us to try and relocate.
