Who knows? The scientists that created it, the researchers who are studying it, the CDC and FDA who evaluated the data, and anyone who has taken the time to look at the studies, research, evaluations, and data summaries, that's who knows.

Rats have died? I haven't seen that article/report/study but since I'm not a rat I'm not worried about those events. Now, if there were credible reports of the vaccine causing deaths in large numbers of humans, then I would worry.

Another poster said that he/she "bet the main stream news does not report about those vaccinated who have gotten it again." Actually, every time they list the effectiveness at less than 100% they are reporting that there have been some cases in vaccinated people. That's exactly what 72%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 96% all mean, some number of people have become infected after receiving the vaccine.

Why would anyone listen to a person who is a totally wrong spreading completely baseless rumors about a person who has lead the NIAID in the National Institute of Health through both Dem and GOP administrations since 1984, and is considered a world expert on infectious disease and immunoregulation. It scares the Hell out of me when people claim to work in health care, and maybe you do, and might actually be endangering the lives of the patients they see when they are so frighteningly ignorant of how to read the literature and analyze data as you seem to be. The horrible language you use to describe those who have the temerity to believe Fauci and the CDC when is comes to Covid is a huge indictment of your inability to separate your political extremism from facts and you absolutely should not be allowed to interact with any patients until you get serious mental health care or have your meds adjusted.

Show me one damn bit of proof that Fauci has a direct stake in the vaccines, not just that he might own a few shares of stock or that the NIH interacts with pharmaceutical companies, as they always have as part of their job. The vaccines do NOT change your DNA, You are an untrained fool who needs to go back to school if you wrote that and believe that. I expect people who are not versed in how RNA and DNA work to be confused and easily led astray by charlatans but you "work in health care" and attach RN to your screen name. Shame on you. Please tell us where you work so we can report your lack of judgement and lack of education to your employer. And you show a complete lack of compassion for people who disagree with you calling them sheeple, the favorite insult of the farthest of the right wingers in our divided nation.

He sure conned Ronald Reagan and George Bush. Reagan used him as an expert on management of HIV and Bush awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He sure conned all the established organizations and universities that have honored him. All those experts in medicine who rely on his contributions to the science of healing are all being conned by Dr. Fauci. Trump was conned by him when he selected him for his Covid team. Who is Dr. Fauci?

Quote:

In a 2020 analysis of Google Scholar citations, Dr. Fauci ranked as the 32nd most-cited living researcher. According to the Web of Science, Dr. Fauci ranked 9th out of 2.5 million authors in the field of immunology by total citation count between 1980 and January 2021. During the same period, he ranked 20th out of 2.4 million authors in the field of research & experimental medicine, and 132th out of 992,000 authors in the field of general & internal medicine.

Dr. Fauci has delivered major lectures all over the world and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom (the highest honor given to a civilian by the President of the United States), the National Medal of Science, the George M. Kober Medal of the Association of American Physicians, the Mary Woodard Lasker Award for Public Service, the Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research, the Robert Koch Gold Medal, the Prince Mahidol Award, and the Canada Gairdner Global Health Award. He also has received 45 honorary doctoral degrees from universities in the United States and abroad.

Dr. Fauci is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society, as well as other professional societies including the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Association of Immunologists, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He serves on the editorial boards of many scientific journals; as an editor of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine; and as author, coauthor, or editor of more than 1,300 scientific publications, including several textbooks.
But I'm sure your ability to detect skill in a field is so much better than all these organizations. Who is being conned? Maybe it is you.

I am amazes how many “experts” we have on this list.

I wear a mask and have gotten the vaccine - but - I TOTALLY SUPPORT (repeat - SUPPORT) any business with employees or patrons NOT wearing masks! I wear a mask - BUT I am NOT - repeat NOT - afraid of anyone NOT wearing a mask. I don’t care who has received or not received the vaccine.

blueash 04-03-2021 11:59 AM

Who wrote these words:

"I work as an RN. I don’t know anyone in my profession willing to take the vaccine. ... What’s the point if you still have to wear a face diaper"

What nurse refers to her mask as a face diaper? Does she refuse to wear a mask when she enters a room of a cancer patient whose immune system is compromised? Does she refuse to wear a "face diaper" in an OR? Is this a person with the calm demeanor you'd want in your health care provider? Is her experience that no nurses have been willing to take the Covid vaccine at all an accurate representation of the nursing profession which her post is trying to tell you it is?

Let's examine that question. Do nurses nearly 100% reject Covid vaccines? My SIL is a nurse, got the vaccine, two of my daughters are nurses, both got the vaccine. A KFF poll reported 2 weeks ago based on interviews from Feb 11 to Mar 7, that "seven in ten (68%) of those responsible for patient diagnosis and treatment like a doctor or a nurse report receiving a COVID-19 vaccine," I am sure that the number is higher now as more vaccines have been administered. "The unvaccinated group of frontline health care workers includes some who either have their vaccination scheduled (3%) or plan to get vaccinated but haven’t scheduled it yet (15%)."

So obviously the RN who wrote that gem doesn't represent her colleagues or fairly state the acceptance rate of vaccination of nurses. Don't listen to her [dms4rn] when she overgeneralizes or offers far out opinions as if she is authoritative on the subject.

It was just two PDF files from the state department of education, the most recent being a waiver of strict controls over re-opening the schools.

So much for the Villages caring about...

anyone at all.

If they really cared there would be a banner at the top of every single Charter School webpage,
that contained a hyperlink to "current COVID policy" of the schools and a phone number to call in case you think your child might be infected, and any current or recent quarantines.

Actually it is on the front page EVERY DAY of The Daily Sun. The bottom FOURTH of the entire front page...every day. EVERY day......titled each day; Coronavirus, What's happening with Vaccination Efforts.

Now what will be interesting is if I have an actual positive Covid test, now that I am vaccinated as well.

I don't understand your experience. If in April 2020 you have a test showing you had antibodies to Covid possibly related to your illness in Jan 2020 then in April 2020 you had your answer. You likely had Covid. Why would you have had any further tests done? If you had Covid antibodies in April 2020 you would have them still in May and June and July etc for some time. Unless you were in a study to determine duration of antibodies there was no clinical reason to test you or any other members of your family that also had antibodies. There also was no reason to be doing nasal swabs on you unless you had new Covid symptoms or had a need to be tested for travel or contact tracing.

I also don't understand the last sentence... "if I have an actual positive Covid test" I thought you wrote you had already had 12 positive tests, were those actual tests?

It's obvious as to the primary impetus behind the criticism and denigration of Dr. Fauci and it has nothing to do with his credentials or expertise - which are impeccable.

The surge to the little ones is probably from all the grand parents that thought they were safe to visit. 🤷*♀️

If the grandparents were fully immune after vaccination, then it was NOT the grandparents that spread Covid. Fully vaccinated people have been found NOT to spread the virus because viral load is too low.

I don't and haven't seen anyone on here commenting on how efficient any of the past and present flu vaccines have/are. Go ahead and tell me how much more dangerous COVID is in comparison, so the flu doesnt' matter to you. You can analyze the COVID vaccines all you want, but the FACT is that it is one of the best vaccines so far. No one worries about the THOUSANDS of flu related deaths per year.
Here's some points for you:
COVID deaths are down
Each COVID test is being counted as a new infection, therefore we should not be even counting them; instead we should rely on hospitalizations (loosely) and deaths by COVID (also being counted loosely).
CDC says that once we are vaccinated we won't pass it on to anyone else. Hey, I didn't make that up, they did.
There is absolutely no legitimate reason for wearing a mask after you are vaccinated. If you wish to wear one, because you are ugly, I will endorse the idea.
Consider this: Do you REALLY wish to wear a mask for the rest of your lives? Because there will NEVER, ever be a day in your future where there is not some danger of contagion.
Just because some political hacks tell you to wear a mask to be "patriot" are you going to believe their word? Or, are you intelligent enough to smell BS when someone is serving it to you?
I agree that masks have an element of protection. Not much, but probably as much as sneezing on your shirt sleeve. But, I do not see these worn out and used over and over again homemade masks as being much help. But, they can be a cause of you getting it when you might not have been infected if you had not worn the same mask over and over again.

Wear you masks, wash your hands, and maintain your distance....and be good little gov drones. Some of us are going to live, while many are going to die of high blood pressure from isolation, loneliness, hysteria and panic. Some of you are going to be miserable as you are being dragged, clawing and screaming to your grave. You go ahead and live your long and miserable lives, while the rest of us live dangerously by socializing (oh my) and not wearing our masks after being vaccinated. Please DO stay home, because the roads in The Villages are way too busy with bad drivers. I enjoy getting into a restaurant without standing in line. I might have a shorter life than you (maybe or maybe not) but at least I am going to enjoy what I have left....probably 20+ years. You may live as long, but hiding in your basement like H.G. Wells "Morlocks" is not going to make very many envious of you, that's for sure.
How many on here hid under your desks during an air raid drill, thinking that you would survive a nuclear attack?

I hear that the CDC is ramping up with propaganda to "suggest" wearing your masks during flu season. They know that this COVID thing will only last so long. Good luck.

Their answer is yes you can including this piece of FoxNews advice:
