getting vaccinated seems pretty pointless to me if you still have to social distance and wear a mask

Seems pretty sensible to me. You can't snap your fingers and suddenly, spontaneously, instantly 80% of the population is appropriately vaccinated. That takes awhile. Especially in areas where vaccines are still not available to 80% of the population. So you vaccinate, and continue to social distance and/or mask inside buildings that aren't your own, until 80% of the population has been vaccinated. At that point, you can assume herd immunity has kicked in, and everyone's good to go.
Why does anyone have an actual problem with that? |

I tell you the problem with that... if you step out and listen you will know that there is no way 80% of the population will be vaccinated unless a very undesirable form of government evolves and people are vaccinated at gun point. |

And there I was

Getting vaccinated is kind of like my Granddaughters school that had one child, 11 years old, allergic to peanut butter, so the entire school was banded from having peanut butter. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
