The people who are taking down these statues are anarchists who only act on their own narrow beliefs. Who knows what those beliefs will be next week? What's next?

Don't "erase" traitors and those who saw nothing wrong with owning other human beings...from our history.

In fact, let's ensure that every school kid...knows ALL about them.

Just don't idolize them...on public property.

Especially since most of these statues/monuments were erected decades after the end of the Civil War and were primarily meant as a means of continuing Jim Crow laws...and intimidating black AMERICAN CITIZENS.

I'm afraid I can't follow your logic. So what if the Confederate officers served in the U.S. Army first? They declared cessation and then war to continue slavery, not really a "bad government" thing. Some former Confederate officers were very good citizens, others such as Forrest, not so much. Once again, as far as I'm aware, nobody here has justified what so many insist on calling 'erasing history'.
Further, if you see the Confederates as trying to change a bad government, aren't the protesters (NOT LOOTERS OR RIOTERS) doing pretty much the same?

You are correct, with just an itty-bitty, almost insignificant and hardly even worth mentioning difference...between the confederacy and the current protestors.

That being, one group is protesting for equal treatment and justice for black American Citizens and the other group not only didn't want blacks as American citizens (or even thought of as human beings)...but also wanted the right to own them like any other chattel.

Other than that...they are exactly the same.

Very true! It could even be called one of the ultimate ironies.

Default Look at numbers

[QUOTE=ColdNoMore;1792017][SIZE="3"]Prager U...AGAIN?

Not sure point you’re trying to make regarding fatherless homes, but according to NAACP website, blacks ARE 5 times more likely incarcerated, yes. But average total backs incarcerated yearly is 2 million + while black Fatherless homes average 6 million + . SO, one can understand what the claim Fatherless homes are Possibly the number one cause Of black kids getting into trouble because taking out the 2 million in jail, where are the OTHER 4 million men?
It doesn’t make it any easier, but I think Prager U makes a valid point. I know my Dad set me on a straighter path more than once in my life. More like .... more than a hundred😇.
I pray every day for racism to go away and let this country heal and move onwards, but just like a few bad cops need to be weeded out and let all the good ones do their jobs, we need to call out the race baiters and Those that profit off the continuing of this horrible divide. We are all people. Racism is learned. Put a bunch of babies or toddlers in a room at a daycare and they see friends, not color. Why can’t we all.

completely.

So why do we see so many, particularly here in TV...who don't think the same way?

This is the way it used to be for me but not now. I didn't see skin color; I saw the person. My entire outlook has changed now because of this BLM movement. I will never unsee what they are doing to our government and LEO. This crap has to stop NOW!!!

Serious question, what made you decide to judge the vast overall majority of protestors (who are doing so peacefully)...by the abhorrent actions of just a few?

Were you outraged at all young white men and lump them all together, when Dylan Roof slaughtered black parishioners...in their own church?

Do you judge all Baptist's and/or christians, by the disgusting actions and writings...of the Westboro Baptist Church?

Etc., etc., etc.

I'm just curious as to why you're now doing it...with Black Lives Matter?

I don't have to explain my personal feelings but I will give just a bit of insight......

Mass killings, in many instances, are a result of an individual who is mentally unstable. I'm sad but not outraged when killings happen to innocent people.

This BLM movement has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I can't get rid of it. "ALL LIVES MATTER" is criticized the BLM movement. Really? I'm disheartened it has come to this where all lives don't matter.

When the idea of a "peaceful protest" happening in your community strikes terror in your heart because you are afraid that something horrible is going to happen to your town that is no longer a peaceful thing.

Yep. The rioters are a pretty diverse crowd. So are their victims.

This is not about race although some folks sure love to play that card. It makes them untouchable.
