From those facts, I can easily find the truth, and arrive at an opinion. And, always insure I hear both or how many sides ther are. In today's world, that's tough, but one FACT I AM CERTAIN OF. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are FOR SURE not on my list of sources. Congressional investigations on both sides after hearing world security experts and intelligence concluded overwhelmingly that those mediums are being fed untruths by several sources, some outside our boundaries. |
My opinion on social media. You don’t become billionaire by offering free site to _______ without selling their private information they post, basically it’s spying, monitoring, and gathering of information for sale to any business including federal government and you agreed to to it when you set up account and post. Twitter no different IMO IMO FB, tweeter, google, Utube, yahoo all gather information and sell it or use it for agenda. Not that familiar with instant graham probably has the same scheme.
Ever notice when you search for something online and all sudden you have pop up adds? Only one way to generate Income off you’re information. |

I have many friends with differing views. I've seen a number of people "censored" on one side, yet no posts blocked by my other friends. And the block occurs to multiple friends. In my opinion, the decision to censor isn't objective. |
Absolutely zero interest in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc...., TOV is the only social media platform I ever visit.

I don't really care to get involved with all of these current threads, but it's hard to let this one go without a comment. When we rented there various times, as soon as my eyelids were open in the morning I headed to the postal station to get the paper. Mostly for seeing the open houses, scouting various villages and an overall idea of the homes for sale. One thing we immediately noticed though, was that the paper was pretty sparse on actual national or international news and that which they did have, was far from balanced. No problem whatsoever with me though, since it is a private business and they have the right to print, or not print, anything they choose. I fail to see where Facebook, or any other social media for that matter, is any different in their right to run their business the way they want. |
Facebook strikes again.....
New York Daily News - NY Daily News - New York Daily Newsstory.html "Several groups of right-wing militias descended on Gettysburg National Park in Pennsylvania on July 4 after conspiracy theory websites spread a quickly debunked rumor that antifa was going to burn American flags at the Civil War battlefield. "The antifa flag-burning event started on Facebook, and the listing was eventuallyremoved, but not before getting the attention of right-wing websites and social media, along with the rumor’s evolution to include a massacre of white people and burning of homes." |

I don't know if it made it to Facebook or not since I closed my account a few years ago as it was / is a wasteland IMO> Armed protesters march through Georgia'''s Stone Mountain Park ... |

And your crowd estimate is just a bit off from reports. "Stone Mountain Memorial Association spokesman John Bankhead said there were between 100 and 200 protesters. He said the protesters, many of whom carried large rifles, were peaceful." Armed protesters march through Georgia's Stone Mountain Park |

I have seen "FactChecks" on Facebook that I personally was glad to see. When someone issued a statement, quoted from another source that was incorrect, blatantly incorrect, they would put up a "fact checker". Trying to think of an example.
Maybe someone else can. There are many rumors that are spread as fact online that are just plain wrong. FaceBook doesn't issue a "fact check" over someone's opinion but rather over an article that was quoted as fact that was incorrect. Usually not over anything political or religious or really highly controversial. I have seen several people corrected that needed to be corrected...and of course they still thought they were right. Facebook doesn't do it often. I invite all people frightened to be part of Facebook to try it. It is wonderful to see friends and relatives that you haven't seen in years and pictures of their children and some of it is very annoying as well, as when a family member posts a political meme you don't agree with....... but it is something interesting to do...and not dangerous like some people think. Follow the rules of common sense and don't open private messages on Facebook. I can't help you if you buy things. Just don't buy things and wave to a few cousins who may be like mine and a LOT of fun. |
