Sadly what is seen all too often is the media (which combined knows very little but how to spin) has yet to remind anyone that in this country, you are innocent until proven guilty. Reminds me of the towns people in "Frankenstein". Torch anyone?
And even then they sometimes get it wrong especially when the community seems to have a need for closure and some sad case lets the real killer get away with it. Critical thinking is crucial as it taking things with a grain of salt especially when television ratings are thrown into the mix.

Great movie IMHO about the media gone amok is Kirk Douglas' Ace in the Hole Ace in the Hole (1951 film - Wikipedia).

Dave Kehr in the Chicago Reader called it "cold, lurid, and fascinating"[18] and Nathan Lee of The Village Voice wrote, "Here is, half a century out of the past, a movie so acidly au courant it stings."[19]

Time Out London wrote, "As a diatribe against all that is worst in human nature, it has moments dipped in pure vitriol."[20] TV Guide called it "a searing example of writer-director Billy Wilder at his most brilliantly misanthropic" and adds, "An uncompromising portrait of human nature at its worst, the film . . . stands as one of the great American films of the 1950s."[21]

I prefer the Mel Brooks version. The lack of humanity was more a joke.

Watching a movie like that would have me heading to the Skyway on a one way trip.

I saw that the Dog joined the search brought back a memory of my sister passing , she contracted an infection during hip surgery that they just couldn’t stop and this was in the best hospital in Boston , well anyway it was November and my sister lived for a couple of weeks , she knew I was going to be in Hawaii for winter, she loved the Dog I had only seen him a couple of times she told me a few times if you see the dog tell him hi , well on on one of my walks on my way up to diamond head ,, I saw them filming a scene , well I told the dog about my sister and a tear ran down his face , he hollered to get Beth and then the whole cast joined hands and Dog said a prayer for my sister , she would have loved that

Does anyone think his parents are innocent of helping him vanish?

I do not think so.

Google the camping map for the Ocala Forest. This is such a large public area with all kinds of places to camp and FRESH Water..........Do you think that taking the cap camper on that trip before he reported her missing was a way to find a remote area and "stock him up"????
I think that he could very well be hiding out in the Ocala Forest. And I also think that his parents could very well have stocked him up with provisions and likely planned to visit him/bring him supplies. They vastly underestimated the amount of attention that they would all be getting. They are not as free to come and go unnoticed as they thought they'd be. He might resort to thieving from campsites for supplies.

I don't think he's in the Carlton Preserve. If he went there at all it was to get rid of evidence. But he, himself, isn't there.

So … reports say she was strangled while camping Grand Teton Park Aug 27-30 while with her companion Laundrie, and his parents who he went camping with later, say they know nothing, nor where he is etc.

As a parent, I completely understand and feel "unconditional love." As a law abiding citizen, I also understand the need for crimes, particularly murders, to be solved and the culprits punished. The two are not mutually exclusive, as there are many criminals that are still loved by their parents. While there may still be a (remote) chance that Laundrie is not the murderer, the actions (or more precisely, 'inaction') of his parents and himself to date - doesn't help his cause. It's also not much of a leap to imagine, given what has been reported, that he has been over-coddled by his parents his entire life and might think they will do anything to protect him. In all honesty though, I'm also pretty confused as to the relationship between Gabby and her parents. I'm just hoping that justice for Gabby, will eventually prevail - whatever that turns out to be.

Many murderers are sociopaths, but not all sociopaths are murderers. A proclivity to violence is not a trait they all have. Sociopaths can be very convincing in their sincerity even with those who "know" them well. They are adept liars and can summon their emotions at the drop of a hat, especially crying/tears. They lack is empathy for others and feelings or guilt or remorse for the pain they cause, which makes them ideal killers. They also tend to be smart and often times, charming and can present a likable facade.

I worked with prisoners and former inmates while in law school. These were mostly at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater. This is probably the largest prison in Minnesota.

One of my clients beat and did other very violent things to his wife. He did seem to be rather disliked by the other prisoners just judging by their body language and the like I noticed when I visited him at Stillwater. And the judge and others I interacted with on his behalf seemed to loathe this man. He did seem like a very poor excuse of a human being and his criminal history bore that out.

Anyway, it is hard to generalize what might have happened from scant individual facts. And so far I have not seen anything to suggest that this man in the news, Brian Laundrie, is a sociopath. He might just have lost it in a fit of rage caused by what looks like mental health problems of both Gabby Petito and her boyfriend.

Hubby says, Laundrie is dead. He is too much of a coward. Well, let’s see if hubby is right?

The facts do seem to suggest that he took his own life. He does not seem to have the resources to have had other things to do like leave the country or go into very deep and long term hiding. And the very real possibility that he murdered his girlfriend would be a very heavy burden for him to carry even if he was mentally ill when he did it.
