Okay. So the panic is out of the way. Let's look at the reality.

First of all, the reports I've read. is that central Florida accounts for 20% of all new reported cases in America. Sounds horrible, but Central Florida has a population of 8,359,609 (Wikipedia), and the total number of cases is a whole 181. Put another way, that is 0.002% of the population. "Minuscule" is the word that comes to mind.

Second, Leprosy is a CURABLE disease. "The currently recommended treatment regimen consists of three drugs: dapsone, rifampicin and clofazimine" (World Health Organization).

Don't know about the rest of y'all but based on that, I'm not quite ready to consider moving to (say) Iceland...

A nice analysis. But it presupposes that the CDC publishes reliable information 😂😂😂😂. If the last three years has taught us anything…

Plants need CO2 to live. They pay us back with O2.

Seriously? after what everyonehas gone through in 2020 you actually believe anything the CDC has to say? Not even the doctors and nurses pay attention to them any more.

Venting? You mean vetting, right?

Suggestion to all...if one is to opine to others their superiority, make sure you know how to spell! :ho:

It’s not new to Florida. Armadillos spread it as they pass through your yard. Gardeners are especially susceptible since the contaminates are on the ground. This is according to TV academy wildlife instructor. No biggie though cause it’s curable.

That's it, then! Barbecued armadillos (..oes?) are definitely off the menu.

Sorry to inform some of you, but doctors still pay a lot of attention to what the CDC says. It is the world's foremost organization for the collection, analysis, and distribution of data and information on both infectious and non-infectious diseases.

Several posters here prefer to have their political leaders push non-informed pseudoscience. That's your choice. But I guarantee you that you want your doctor reading what the CDC produces when you get sick. Of course you can try ivermectin and rectal lysol if you like when you get leprosy.

But never let facts get in the way of a good hatefest.

Probably brought in by illegal aliens. Leprosy is rampant in India. If it gets into the local armadillo population look out!

RUCdaze 07-31-2023 08:53 PM

The CDC is part of the World Health Organization. Need I say more? Would you really go to a doctor who allows himself to be controlled by a blatantly political organization? Not unless you're really woke!

Thank you for a welcome dose of reality and common sense.
