We don't need martial law, we simply need law. The last time I checked, it is unlawful to destroy property and steal. It is not unlawful, yet, to gather and protest. The problem with the current law is that it is not nearly swift enough.

Wait, so this race issue just popped up in the last 3 years? I was told that all white people are racist and that systemic oppression of minorities has been going on since the country was founded. Are you saying the "light bringer" obliterated all forms of racism and oppression during his 8 years in office? Then it just started again?

When you have an obviously racist, possibly mentally defective, president who does as much as he can to divide Americans, to try to start a civil war, all the time filling the pockets of his family with more and more cash, this is what you get. A tiny segment of the population that tries to carry out his wishes, whether purposefully or not, and then a major reaction to it all. That's where we are.

Have you really considered what martial law means? It means that the military takes over the nation and suspends the laws. I think we are a LONG way from needing that.

I strongly advise anyone panicking over the arson, destruction, and looting in a few dozen neighborhoods in the country to just turn off their televisions. Network news makes money by keeping us watching, so they show us the worst of everything and try to make things look worse than they are. You will feel better soon. Really!

Seriously, the only solution is guns? Take a look at how it played out in Kissimmee, no guns required. The problem with guns is that guns beget more guns.

There's a difference between peaceful protest and mob riots. I support peaceful protest. However IMHO, those who participate in rioting, defacing property, looting, throwing Molotov cocktails and bricks, bottles, etc., should be shot on sight.

I’m 68 years old and would never even consider calling a police officer anything but sir or officer but we are now in a place where a very large percentage of Americans feel very comfortable giving a cop the middle figure or telling them to f—- off. Last night a nypd cop was attacked and beat on camera until he was able to get his firearm out. He let the thugs run away instead of shooting them. I can assure you if he had fired his gun CNN would have screamed police brutality all day today. Those “peaceful protesters” are lucky they selected the right cop as they could be in morgue this morning assuming it isn’t burnt down.

This may be the single most ignorant premise I have ever seen posted on this site, and that's a MIGHTY high bar to reach.

I get so tired of people dismissing what is occurring before our eyes and making politically decisive statements. What will it take to stand together as one nation?
