How do you explain the 10's of millions who have neither been vaccinated and don't wear a mask and still don't get sick????

I haven't had a flu shot in over 50 years and yet I haven't gotten the flu in all that time. I left New England over 8 years ago and while I used to get 2 or 3 colds a year I've yet to have one here in Florida. Please explain.

The info on the news seems to go back and forth about requiring the mask. Soooo many people especially in Southern states are getting it, yes, mostly nonvaxed. I predict that they will go back to mandatory mask very, very soon and hopefully mandatory vac. It's a shame that wasn't done months ago, and we wouldn't be in this mess.
I truly believe the surge in cases and quickness of spread has taken the CDC by surprise. And not only are they back pedaling, they are very concerned it is getting out of control.
So, great for those who have vexed, not good for others and hopefully everyone will wear a mask, for that extra layer.

Aren't the variants originating in other countries? The Delta variant is more transmissible yet less deadly. That's typically how virus mutations work. Since I've been vaccinated and have some level of immunity, I'm not concerned about catching some future variation of this COVID. The risk is comparable to the risk I have catching the flu or the common cold.

Considering the # of citizens that have contracted the virus and have natural immunity plus the # that have been vaccinated; the US has to have the highest % of citizens that have some level of immunity. No data to back this up but I suspect the original flu was probably much more deadly that it is today. Eventually, populations developed immunities making the subsequent variations much less deadly. That's what is going to happen with COVID. I know this because I stayed in a Holiday Inn last week.......

People like you are making the undertakers rich!

Excellent post! Yes, it is and must remain a PERSONAL choice. No one gets to decide about my body but me. That's how it works in America. And that's how it will continue to work.

Point two of your post: that viruses (virii?) mutate over time to become less deadly is true as well. That much was proven when Europeans first had contact with the indigenous peoples over here. More indigenous people died of the diseases the Europeans brought than were ever outright killed by the Europeans--an estimated 55 million, or some 90% of the indigenous peoples. The Taino people were basically wiped out. Some of those diseases, such as cholera and smallpox, were major-league killers, but more probably died from diseases such as measles, chicken pox, and the flu--diseases that were for the most part inconveniences to the Europeans. No one doubts why: those "inconvenient" diseases were inconvenient because over the centuries the viruses had mutated into something that was very contagious but, to the Europeans, not very deadly. Once they got it and recovered, they were for the most part immune. Not so with the Taino and the other indigenous peoples. Those "inconvenient" diseases killed them like flies.

It looks more and more that that is exactly what is happening to COVID. The variant cases we've seen to date seem more transmissible but far less deadly. Mother Nature knows what she is doing.

This should clear it up. Straight out of the contradicting leader of the Covid fight, Dr. Fauci.

Fauci is far more of an "Establishment" figure than a doctor. Can't be trusted. He has done nothing but flip flop on everything he says.

The existence of the variant and people not getting the vaccine has changed everything about when and wear to use a mask. Stop getting your info from fake sources!

You have no credibility.

It boggles the mind how ridged some people are in their reasoning. Yes fauci said no mask, then mask, then probably no mask again....I don't know anymore...it doesn't matter. He is a source, not the answer AND the reasons for wearing have change throughout. But that is ok, because right now...at this stage of the virus they want a mask...for you!...for me..for our kids.
Stop wasting your energy bi#&hing about what fauci said months ago, move on and do what's right. COVER THAT FACE! Before dirt does it for you.

I trust my God-given immune system. I take vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc and quercetin. If I get Covid, I feel confident that I would recover from it, and if I don't, I'm OK with that. There are two great methods of early treatment, hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. There is no reason to wear a mask, as the virus is much smaller than the mask. It's like putting up a chain-link fence to keep the mosquitoes out. Besides, I like to breathe.

Blackbird45 07-30-2021 07:50 AM

I agree it is your choice, but if you do get sick you should allow the care giver the choice to treat you or not. Why should they risk their lives to save yours?

The government CAN NOT TELL ME OR ANYONE ELSE THEY HAVE TO HAVE A VACCINE
Your funny mandatory vaccinations
Ask my friend who was vaccinated in March that is lying in the hospital very sick with Covid what he thinks

There is no law that stating the the pros of wearing masks outweigh the cons. And since the CDC has made contradictory statements on this matter proves that their dictates are not to be regarded as incontrovertible.

If you check Pubmed you will find contradictory studies for preventing infection. That is because it is not an exact science.

Disagree,

OUR BODIES, OUR CHOICE! NO-ONE has the right to tell you what to put into your body, especially the government!

What you say is all true, but once you get the virus and take your hydroxychloroquine, tell me-how much fun will TV be straped to an oxygen tank??
