The man's mother called the police, on her son, because he was having a mental breakdown episode. He had a knife in his hand. The mother was hoping they could restrain him. He was mentally ill. If he had been white I bet they wouldn't have shot and killed him. Again he had a knife, we wasn't much of a threat, he didn't come at them, he simply didn't obey them..... he was mentally ill.

He had quite a criminal history and had rapped about killing cops. He was a violent criminal and a threat to the lives of others. He was threatening the police with a deadly weapon. They acted in self defense.

Crazy people kill other people every day. Knives kill people every day. So you are saying an insane violent man with a knife threatening another's 's life cannot be shot to stop him?

this is a complicated one; from the video, the perp looks very distressed, like in a manic state of some kind. maybe he's off his meds or cant get them for whatever reason. he's staring blankly @ the cops, but wont drop the knife or obey orders. since police are not trained in psychiatric care, they do what they have to. (poster before me suggests rubber bullets in this case.) the guy moves forward & is shot & killed. i feel bad anytime somebody's killed, but without knowing the true intentions of this poor man, it will continue to happen. cops can't read minds & be social workers. maybe this idea of rubber bullets& the like can be used in cases like this.
someone is making these policies, & they need to address these types of situations. it's why briana taylor's cases was bunguled. what exactly is a 'no-knock' warrant? isn't a warrant delivered in person, so the constable can put the document in your hand, therefore confirming delivery? help me figure this out :popcorn:

A no knock warrant is just that. You aren’t required to knock before entering the premises. However, in this case, even though they had a no knock warrant, they did knock and identified themselves. There were witnesses to that effect.

I would have put him down faster than they did. They hesitated way too long, thanks to the anti-Police media and back stabbing gov. they work for. If anyone thinks that a police officer should disarm a knife wielding thug, then they are living in a comicbook fantasy.

No, it would be irresponsible to "aim for the leg." And why should they? Because someone says he had a mental issue? I consider all criminals to have mental issues, so under some folks' view, the police would never defend themselves or the public.
