If you don't understand that, then you were fighting for the wrong reasons - which is a darned shame.
People have the right to express themselves. You have the right to express yourself as well but remember the old saw about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Eventually, you might end up with nothing to watch, no sports to enjoy, nothing to do - all because someone put something on a ball field that hurt your sensibilities.

I repeat: "The Play Station generation want their rights but don't want to earn them, destroying and demanding is not the answer in achieving respect."

As you can see I said nothing about anyone having to server in a military branch to achieve any rights.
Earning the right of respect is not being a Looter, Stealing, Killing, Setting Businesses on Fire or even Whacking someone over the head from behind. You got to earn that right of respect which is something that's not handed out for free...
JFK once said: "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country?".. The Play Station generation believe in the opposite...
Give me, Give me...

Maybe more people would watch if the "woke" sports teams lead by example. For diversity's sake, every woke team should be required to have an EQUAL amount of each race on their squad. Playing ability will no longer be the main hiring factor because it's not fair to the under-represented races. Come on man, let's do what's right.

I agree 100% :coolsmiley:
Come-on Man........., How about: 1 White, 1 Black, 1 Hispanic, 1 American Indian and 1 Asian player for each team and must be on the court at all times during an NBA game.

Is there "affirmative action" in the NBA or NFL?

As a former season ticket holder I can tell you that my television experience at home is way better than the actual in person experience. I put the channel on the Red Zone and they do all the channel changing for me. Love it.

I'm with you. All spoiled and uniformed folks aided by the clueless media. If they actually told you what the Black Lives Matter Global Foundation stood for, this whole thing would go away fast.

Coal Miner 09-03-2020 04:55 AM

Surely, you arent saying that efforts to end racism is wrong are you? And, why do you consider such efforts as political?

HeleneGB 09-03-2020 05:00 AM

My household also is not watching any sport but golf. Sports should be for entertainment, not politics.

Turn off the thugs that can't write their names. Tune in a good ole nascar race on Sunday and take a break from blm crap.

I have NOT watched one minute of Baseball, Basketball, team sports this year. Only Golf. Was really looking forward to Pro Football, esp with Brady now in Tampa Bay. I even bought a Brady/Tampa Bay jersey. Was hoping that Goodell would stay out of the fray and pandering - NO! (anyone want the jersey?). Really not sure if I will watch NFL games now. Why must EVERYTHING be so POLITICAL??? (BTW, pls no political comments or Mods will delete...).

NFL teams will add symbols to their end zones and helmets this season as part of a leaguewide effort to make clear its commitment to social justice.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday that teams will stencil two phrases into the backs of their end zones — “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us” — this season. Additionally, he said players will be allowed to wear helmet decals “bearing the names of the victims” of police violence and systemic racism.

Well I guess I have no sense , I’m already with my NFL ticket. I’m was a multi tour combat veteran who fought for the rights off everyone to express themselves peacefully in any manor they wish legally

Ahhhh! Peacefully. That’s the key word.

Funny how when the 5 officers got shot in Dallas a while back, the NFL wouldn’t allow the players to wear decals on their helmets to honor them. But now, because of a couple of police doing the wrong thing, everything is bad and we’ve turned the clock back 300 years. You can take the NFL and stuff it. Don’t care if I ever see a game again. And....golf is pushing it a bit as well.

I am done with pro sports of any kind. To me they are just a bunch of highly paid prima donnas who think they should be able to use their wealth and fame to tell the rest of the world what to do. Hollywood stars are in that same category. Shut off the tube and read a good book is a better option. If everyone quits watching (which will never happen of course) the sponsors go away and these folks lose their platform for spouting their political nonsense.

As a veteran who fought for this country I am appalled at the lack of respect shown for our flag, our country, and our leaders and I won't support those who try and run it down when most of them never served a day doing anything positive for this great country of ours. If we required everyone who is physically capable to perform two years of some sort of public service (military or civil) right after college I believe attitudes would be different.

Don't get me wrong...prejudice and excessive police violence are never right and need to be dealt with, but at the end of the day this is still the greatest country in the world and everyone should be grateful they have the opportunity to live in it.
