I would love to see these athletes, who seem to feel a deep connection to the plight of their people, actually move into their communities. They become millionaires and can't wait to move away from the very people they espouse support for. Every sports team should come up with a "Support the People, support the neighborhood" clause. It would require that every athlete actually live in the neighborhood of their sports team. So for example Aaron Donald of the LA Rams couldn't live in his glitzy mansion in Calabasas, he would have to live in Inglewood. That $4.7 million he spent on that mansion at The Oaks would really go a long way in Inglewood, and the community would get a much needed lift. "Lead by example" doesn't mean leaving the very neighborhood that needs you the most.

Thank you. It’s gratifying to hear you served to protect everyone’s right to an opinion. Some might mistake that for Freedom of Speech.

Most everyone I know has decided to stop watching. Combine that with Covid and I just don’t see how they can continue to pay out salaries and keep their stadiums open.

Most of the NFL does not own their stadiums municipalities built them with our tax dollars same with Soccer, Hockey, BB, Tennis and Baseball.

I'm really surprised that many municipalities haven't had a recurrence of The Blue Flu.

They're not allowed to strike but I would love to see a nationwide Blue Flu to show these people how important the police are.

The number of LEOs that have committed atrocities is very small as is the number of atrocities. Most of those that have found to have broken the law in the performance of their duties have been prosecuted.

Today, people tend to jump to the conclusion that every time a black person is killed by police that it wasn't justified and that it was because of racism. We often don't have all of the information.

I believe that we're going to see some information come out about George Floyd and Jacob Blake that will change a lot of opinions. of course, there will be those whose opinion will never change even in the face of compelling evidence and facts.

There is something else going on that creates these protests and riots. They are not simply starting.

Heh yeah it should be interesting to see what happens to the taxpayers when the tax bill comes due. Those stadiums and games provide a LOT of tourism revenue. But hey go ahead and shut'em down by boycotting them. Don't forget all those restaurants and stores that thrive on stadium events, that might have to shut down if THEY don't get revenue. And all those employees who will be unemployed if their employers no longer have hours for them.

Everyone will be living on the dreaded tax dollar, all because little Jonny doesn't think black lives matter.

Oh well.

Dana1963 09-03-2020 07:54 AM

So your for affirmative action. Equal number of Black, Brown and white in the workplace or will you agree on percentages?

Most of that attendance is lost because the two LA teams play on a very small temporary field. Now, both teams this year will be playing in a brand new stadium. The Raiders in Vegas also play in a new stadium.

Personally, I prefer it to also not be not anti- American. I’d love for all these athletes who do nothing for the cause but disrespect the flag While they are at work and who think we are so horrible to go live in another country. Can we please make that happen. You are free to leave the country. In the meantime, I won’t be watching Them on TV. If they actually protested at some other point in time I might listen but kneeling gets my blood pressure up.

dcorts 09-03-2020 09:16 AM

If you want to hit them in the pocket book start communicating to all to quit buying the advertizers goods by name. Ie budweiser, coke or whoever is advertising. If this circulates across america and people stop buying the money supporting the events will away. So far you seam safe with golf.

I even bought a Brady/Tampa Bay jersey. Was hoping that Goodell would stay out of the fray and pandering - NO! (anyone want the jersey?). Really not sure if I will watch NFL games now. Why must EVERYTHING be so POLITICAL??? (BTW, pls no political comments or Mods will delete...).

NFL teams will add symbols to their end zones and helmets this season as part of a leaguewide effort to make clear its commitment to social justice.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday that teams will stencil two phrases into the backs of their end zones — “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us” — this season. Additionally, he said players will be allowed to wear helmet decals “bearing the names of the victims” of police violence and systemic racism.

Sure, I'll take the jersey if it is large or medium. Please put leave it outside on my car. Thank you.

statues of traitors who lead a rebellion against there country , put the statues and flags in a museum. The top 10 generals and politicians should have been hung for the carnage they were responsible for . This is a view I’ve had since high school , all you have to do is walk through any New England town square and read the names of the dead. I don’t hav a problem with a statue honoring the average confederate soldier , but spare me the God like images of Bobby Lee , who on the last day sacrificed a patrol of young men looking for a way out. People trying to whitewash the betrayal call it the noble cause , not for the average soldier caught up in a war just so rich guys could keep a disgusting way of life

Watch Football / Punish NFL

I am going to use my dvr to record a game I would like to watch. Can either wait until game is over or start watching after 90 min of start . Fast forward thru all the commercials. When advertisers get wind of hundreds of thousands of fans doing this, they will put pressure on Roger G to keep politics out of the game. Maybe Roger may have to take a pay cut from his 35 million a year salary. Spread the word.

They can take a permanent break as far as I'm concerned. Would have been fine with 'it takes all of us' but that's it; anything that leaves out the whole story - I'm not interested in.

As you can see I said nothing about anyone having to server in a military branch to achieve any rights.
Earning the right of respect is not being a Looter, Stealing, Killing, Setting Businesses on Fire or even Whacking someone over the head from behind. You got to earn that right of respect which is something that's not handed out for free...
JFK once said: "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country?".. The Play Station generation believe in the opposite...
Give me, Give me...

Play Station Generation ----? I don't see that much difference between generations. Ther were plenty of stealing, looting, and riots in "our" generation, the 1960s. I lived near 2 riots - one in Omaha, Nb around 1966. One in Miami around 1973. I remember an early play station-type game called "PONG" in many bars everywhere. It was popular and just as decedent and time-wasting THEN as play station is TODAY. As to this generation being lazy - I see them riding bikes a lot, rock climbing and making new track records TODAY. Athletes TODAY are stronger, faster, bigger, and have longer careers. Tennis players play into their 40s. LeBron James has taken care of himself (not a criminal) and is still playing basketball well, and giving back to his community and working toward greater voting places for the Nov. election. He is one of many humanitarian pro athletes. More on laziness : - - - Employment opportunities have been decreasing as automation, A.I. and robotics transform manufacturing and take the people out of that picture. No more "Rosy the riveters" when it's now riveter machine # 378, not a Rosy. A.I. and robots are predicted to cause 20 to 30% unemployment in 10 or 15 years in the US. American Airlines will lay off 16,000 on Oct 1st due to CV caused lower travel. People are not, so much, becoming a more lazy generation, as much as they are having to adjust to more free time forced upon them.
......That means that people will NEED MORE NFL and other sports and other ENTERTAINMENT opportunities - NOT LESS!
