He faces possible hospitalization and death and the other 13 do NOT. They face ONLY mild symptoms. They will be asymptomatic carriers and COULD (?) carry CV back to their families.

(2) The "COULD carry back" comes into play because the ONE unvaccinated individual and the 13 vaccinated players will have vastly different amounts of antibodies built up. The 13 vaccinated players will have much greater antibodies to defend against the VIRUS. If the ONE unvaccinated player avoids the hospital in the future he can still get another - possibly even worse bout of CV. My CONCLUSION is that all the factors of risk versus reward point in favor of getting the vaccine. NOT getting the vaccine puts fellow citizens and family in DANGER of being exposed to potentially risker and risker variants of CV. Why risk the future - yours and the nations?

Thank you Dr Fauci...

As I read through the string there is a lot of misinformation. PLEASE PLEASE understand the covid vaccines DO NOT inject you with the virus. Laboratories synthesize from scratch Messinger RNA so your body is ready to fend the virus off should you be exposed. This is new technology. There are vaccines for other diseases that may inactivate a virus eg. you are injected with a dead virus so your body would fend off an infection. The difference has allowed the covid vaccines to be rapidly tested and approved rather than years for the other technology. Whoever quoted Scientific American is over readings and doesn't understand this and it's dangerous. The new vaccines are very safe and effective but the misinformation out there is killing people.
As far as the Yankees, I would suspect they haven't been fully vaccinated yet for who knows what reason, I would love to know why.signed Retired MD

Read my post in section 4 why long term testing isn't being done. You're hiding behind old technology.

13 of the 14 were fully vaccinated! I guess reading comprehension isn’t required in order to post on TOTV…

It seems consistent that we can not learn to disagree without insulting people. It used to be possible, too bad for the change.

There is a huge difference between disagreeing and not comprehending the written word. Three separate times someone posted that it was the player’s fault for not being vaccinated. Three times I reposted that they had been vaccinated. The forth time I wasn’t as polite…
It wasn’t because of difference of opinion…

Actually it was both staff and a coach. The first time they originally announced that there were 9 positives that included a player, but that turned out to be a false positive.
All eight members of the Yankees organization that tested positive were fully vaccinated.
Five of the six players in the latest outbreak were also fully vaccinated.

I understand it can be very frustrating when it seems people intentionally misunderstand things. I feel that. I was just mentioning to my wife this morning about maybe taking a break for a little while because my frustration level is growing,

We'll see. I will try hard to not be rude.

Who will be the arbiter, the jury - American citizens. Not the government, which would be Fascism.

That IS a perfect example.....yelling fire in a movie when there is NO fire - is an example of EXTREME disinformation. Enough disinformation, even in small doses, leads to propaganda, which is a DEMOCRACY destroyer. Are we there yet???????

America is "supposed" to be a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy
(notice no capital d, it doesn't deserve it).
And anyone that thinks America has not been propagandized, hasn't been paying attention.

Yes, I agree. That would be great!

You agree that people should be prosecuted for posting their opinions (in this case regarding vaccines) that the government or another entity believes is disinformation? You do realize that what someone might deem disinformation today, could be proven to be true on another day? Also, last I checked we live in the United States of America, not communist China where you round up people because you don’t agree with what they say, and you censure/block people’s opinions and research to suit what you want them to know and believe. I wouldn’t want to live in a place like that.

Getting vaccinated doesn't keep you from catching covid19, if you get covid it will keep you out of the hospital & from DYING from it. You will have a milder form of it. Wearing a mask and distancing will help you to not get covid.

Anytime you would like to cite a legitimate reference that supports that more than 0.007% of fully vaccinated individuals can "get COVID", I'm all ears

The Yankees have 25 players on their active roster. Six were just diagnosed with Covid, five were fully vaccinated. That’s a small sample, but that’s 20% - a huge difference between 20% and 0.007%. All but one had no symptoms. But per protocol, they are still tested regularly. That’s how they were found to be positive. The vast majority of people who have received the vaccine are not tested regularly, especially when they have absolutely no symptoms. So, how do we know the actual number of breakthrough cases?
