Doesn't speak much to the veracity of their articles if they have to give out their newsletter for free. If it had any value people would subscribe to it.

The POA newsletter is a service provided to every Villages household by the POA. If you don't want that service, you can opt out.
Meanwhile, they have sponsors and advertisements, and a portion of the yearly membership to the POA contributes to the cost of printing and distributing it.
I'd rather have a 3-ounce 8-page newsletter once a month on my driveway, than a 14-ounce "feel good" rag that consists primarily of ads selling properties in a community I already live in, on my driveway every day.
Especially since I have to pay for the privilege of throwing away all that paper, unread since - I'm not looking to buy in a community I already live in.
