May I add my small voice in remembrance of Rep. Lewis and in commemoration of the efforts he took in the furtherance of civil justice. May his efforts not be lost or forgotten in the ongoing fight for civil equality for all.

Did not always agree with him but he was a good man. But feel term limits are a good thing.

No cops were ever charged as they were acting on the authority of the government. His Black life did not matter then. But he persisted and history has proven him right.

Maybe now would be a good time to change the name of that bridge where he and others were peacefully marching for human dignity.

Beautifully said. It makes me hopeful that people posted tributes instead of screaming “white power!”

Time to rename the Edmund Pettis Bridge (KKK Grand Dragon) the John Lewis Bridge (where state troopers beat him savagely during a peaceful march for voting rights). Sadly not much has changed since 1965.

I agree with the majority of posters, the thought that comes to mind about John Lewis is 'Integrity'. How our collective values have shifted, so that 'Integrity' has been supplanted by 'duplicity'

Everyone should put their personal "preferences" aside and just honor the man.

Amen
