Goodell is a White Sissy, Sissy, Sissy Bowing down to the Blacks. What about the Men who died defending our Freedom and the American way of life {FREEDOM} and the FLAG of The USE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The NFL has always been a big booster of the US Military, all during the complaints about kneeling they kept up that honor and military personal were still coming to games . From the very beginning it was made clear that this was no disrespect for flag, but a plea for social justice . Many people took the message to heart by donating time and money to causes that were helping young men and woman .who knows maybe more will carry on the he message of peaceful demonstrators who are marching now. This multi tour airborne combat vet will keep his NFL ticket and if people don’t understand about peaceful protest, try reading up on Martin Luther King

Protesting

athletes to speak out and peacefully protest.

Although Goodell did not directly apologize to Colin Kaeperick who was previously ostracized for kneeling, Goodell's statement is significant as the focus of the NFL seems to be moving toward social justice and policing issues.

Once the games resume, it will be interesting to note which players and how many of them will be kneeling. If there is a significant number, will there be less people watching their favorite teams? Apparently, the league doesn't think so or doesn't care very much.

Protesting for rights and kneeling while the National Anthem is played are two different subjects. Roger made yet another cow towing remark in apologizing

You bring attention to an important issue peacefully by any means necessary

When are people going to get it? This is a football game! Do your protesting somewhere else! For those who didn’t know this looks like disrespecting the American flag! Wrong place buddy. There’s a time and place and it’s not at a game!!

Kneeling

That is your right and it will be your loss. Kneeling is a respectful activity (think church) and was never about the flag or the military.

If the NFL or NBA were playing in my front yard I would pull the curtains. I’m tired of sports being hijacked by politics. It used to be one of the few things I could do to avoid the controversies of the world and just enjoy the spirit of competition but those days are over I guess.

taking a knee was not to disgrace the flag it was a protest. I always found it odd that taking a knee was dishonoring the flag, when we kneel to pray. To me it is the most honoring thing, in any case it was about Police injustice. White people just haven't felt it, like people of color do. They are profiled it is a proven fact. I will be watching NFL with glee as I have never stopped, I understood what the protest was about. Why don't you educate yourself and read , DEVIL IN THE GROVE, about Lake County Sherriff Willis V. McCall who was in office from 1944-1972 and he killed 2 young black men in cold murder in 1951. Can you imagine if we had cell phones back then? WE watched George Floyd die and now you should be awoke, if your not... your not paying attention or you are a psychopath.

Anthem time is NOT THE TIME TO PROTEST.. whatever the reason. Stay in the locker room if you cannot behave during its playing. You are an American Citizen, , you are being PAID to play.. that is why you are there.... NOT TO PROTEST.. do that after the game or outside the stadium. The OWNERS MUST take some of the blame here.. but yet again it is about the ALMIGHTY $$$$$$$$$$$ and not common decency SHAME ON THEM

Well, looks like another year of my not watching the NFL. I miss it, but I just can't take the attitude of a bunch of millionaires acting out their feelings like this. Why can't they wait until the National anthem is over?

thank you

You can go to Gators Dockside and watch it free, but you have to buy something to drink and eat, which you would do at home. In the long run, it is much cheaper and you get to hang out with normal people. When some loser kneels for the pledge you can all boo together. GO GIANTS! Oh well, I can dream.

When he didn't show up in Foxboro for the opening game the following year, like he always had the year after the Patriots won the Super Bowl that said it all

IMHO, he's nothing but a power drunk jerk...that is allowed to stay in his job because he sucks up to the owners and they don't really care what he does, because they are making a ton of $$$$ anyway you slice it

Don't sugar-coat the issue. Tell us how you really feel.

Standing for the National Anthem

Get politics out of (un)professional sports. We are REQUIRED to stand for our National Anthem because it is in the US Code;

(B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and
