What is our country coming to? Where even a hint of this topic is suggested? Seems as if these 'bad guys' are baiting LEOs to take action. Seen so many News videos of these awful 'violent' areas of the country, with so many "armed with" their cell phones recording - apparently to capture a cop's reaction etc etc.

The Chicago Police Department has confirmed the existence of an intelligence alert reportedly sent out by the FBI warning area law enforcement of a pact among street gangs “to 'shoot on-sight any cop that has a weapon drawn on any subject in public'."

The "Potential Activity Alert" from FBI officials was sent out Aug. 26, according to ABC7, which says it has obtained a copy of it.

“We have been made aware of this threat by a law enforcement partner,” a Chicago police spokesperson told Fox News on Tuesday. “The Chicago Police Department takes all threats against officer safety seriously and we will take all necessary measures to safeguard our officers.”

Officers across the US shot or injured during violent weekend
Former NYPD detectives Dr. Oscar Odom and Angel Maysonet react to the six shot and one killed while dining in Chicago and a violent weekend across the country that left five cops shot.

The alert -- which mentions around 36 gangs, including the Latin Kings and Vice Lords -- says "members of these gang factions have been actively searching for, and filming, police officers in performance of their official duties,” ABC7 says.

“The purpose of which is to catch on film an officer drawing his/her weapon on any subject and the subsequent 'shoot on-site' of said officer, in order to garner national media attention,” it added, according to the station.

But ABC7 also said the information is coming from "a contact whose reporting is limited and whose reliability cannot be determined."

The office of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, when contacted by Fox News, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.


Two Chicago police officers were shot while conducting a traffic stop in the city over the weekend, but it's unclear whether that attack has any connection to the FBI’s warning, which ABC7 says is headlined “Pact Made by People Nation Gang Factions to 'Shoot On-Site' Any Police Officer with a Weapon Drawn.”

One of the officers targeted in that incident had to undergo surgery for lung and abdominal injuries and is in serious condition, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The other was shot in the shoulder and has been released from medical care.

A suspect also has been taken into custody.


Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said Monday that he believes “people are seeking to do harm to cops."

"I think it's bigger than a suggestion," Brown said, according to ABC7. "I think 51 officers being shot at or shot in one year, I think that quadruples any previous year in Chicago's history. So I think it's more than a suggestion that people are seeking to do harm to cops."

Other than to tell these gangs that anyone showing a weapon will be shot on sight no idea what to do to protect the officers.

What happened to the serve and protect part of the oaths by public servants is getting ignored and why?

A direct order by the chief of law and order in the locations ALLOWING this lawlessness to put it to an end.....for some reason is not being given.

Where is the outcry and demand for law and order from businesses and residents of these locations???

Is it not obvious rights and freedoms are being trampled with no actionable enforcement of the law?

Where is the outrage?

The punks, thugs, rioters and looters can be over whelmed and stopped.......but they are not. Why is that?

Most all cities in America don’t have enough police on their force. Can you imagine being a policeman in the cities today? Mayors in some places do not have their cops back, in fact encourage terrible behavior until they are threatened and rioting comes close to their homes. I recently ran into the owner of an (army/navy type store) he sells camping n survival stuff. He told me that many are joining groups that have a mission to protect their towns n small cities from rioters and those that might attempt to destroy their city. I personally would protect my family and myself from harm but he said many groups he knows of from 6 people to 1500 people have had enough! They will cause no harm to anyone but will protect from gangs and destructive groups who want to cause havoc. He went on to say, stores around the country can sell tons of ammunition and such items if they could get it. I was taken back somewhat as I know he’s a man to be honest and sincere. What could we be in for on our streets? These folks are not the thugs but good people who are organized to protect. They say the police won’t be able to do it. Has anyone heard about all this? I guess I’m in my own little bubble and need to be better informed if this man is right
