It's getting to the point where people are going to be afraid to become teachers here in FL. Just wait and see.....That's going to be the real crisis

Most of the patient like me were elderly. and it was obvious many were not sure of the question.
Having to explain to some confused older patient if they had a preferred pronoun was obviously not in the original job description for the poor lady.
There was nothing judgemental about it.

Still, the Florida legislature worries me, outlawing “Drag Shows” if children might see them. A friend of mine used to travel the country as a musician, playing his bagpipes at festivals, parades, policemen’s funerals, etc, if full kilt and highland regalia . Now in Florida he would be arrested and those sponsoring the events he performed at would be pilloried, fined, and who knows what else.
Why on earth is he concerned about being arrested?

A man in Florida wearing a skirt out in public where children might be present? Why *wouldn't* he be concerned? Yes, ridiculous, but these are strange times we live in.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

Thank you for reading and understanding my point.

The fact that there are 7 pages of responses and only (2) people understood my simple, basic English, speaks volumes about the reading and comprehension ability of Villagers. I suppose you could consider my conclusion "stereotyping", but the facts seem to warrant the conclusion.

(I don't think the terms "Snowbird", "Yankee" or "Northerner" are inherently pejorative, they just always seem to be used that way in TV (& perhaps other places I don't frequent).

Exactly.

You and " perrjojo" win today's award for reading and comprehension at a reasonable level.

Default I’m Not Sensitive

I’ve heard all the terms and used most myself. I don’t anymore, especially if they bother someone and I know it. It’s amazing how many purists have never used the terms?

Hmmm, what to do with my Mastercard?

Default Master

When I was a kid younger men and boys were addressed as “master”. The term is still used quite a bit over in England. Is it derogatory now?

Bring it on. I can always use new shoes. They make my calves look sexy. You forgot my quote about referring to me as “Your Omnipotence”. Nice to meet ya Tom Petty. I may lurk some more or come back out for fun when it suits me.

Get real.
Real. Check it out, gen Z has legitimate problems that we (our generation) should be sympathetic and ready to HELP them out.
