Read the Stimulus Bill Language ! After seeing how many Billions of dollars are spent on "Pork" you will graciously cash your check! The Kentucky Horse Racing industry and L'Oréal were beneficiaries of the previous Bill....

Right now though we're recovering from [politics politics politics] and a pandemic that no one could prepare for and put many of those people who used to earn too much to qualify for the stimulus are out of jobs. Thousands of businesses nationwide have closed their doors for good. Thousands have filed for bankruptcy, and put their employees out of work. I'm sorry it's such a GD inconvenience for you. Maybe try living in a country that has a government dictate what you may or may not own, and then you won't have to worry about feeling like somone getting a hand up is getting a single penny more than they "deserve."

From the book that some people really believe. They really believe this. I really believe that no matter how little anyone makes, they can and should always put back money, even if it is only a dollar a week. YES, and that goes for anyone even in business. And that goes for the guy that owns a dry cleaner who bought himself a new Lexus. And they don't go out to eat, they save a little every week. Then people wouldn't go under in a crisis, at least for awhile. I don't want to give a "hand up" to someone who didn't live like I lived all of my life and I still live. Instead of saving money when some gets a windfall, they buy expensive makeup. I don't want to give money to them. No I don't.

I also think there's a lot of waste in these stimulus checks. I think it should go to people who can show they've lost wages from the pandemic shutdowns.

Your math is so wrong. Your assumptions are incorrect. Your accusations are insulting. Who are you to determine who should and who should not get the funds.
Sit back, relax, you are worried about something that is not within your control.

There financial problems existed long before Covid and now they are getting bailed out on the backs of responsible tax payers. Very sad. As far as the $2,800 stimulus my wife and I recently received, we will be needing at least that to cover the ever increasing price of gas and oil since the new administration has taken over.

For the record I didn't write this but its pretty funny.

Government Stimulus Package', Explained:

It is a slow day in the small TEXAS town of Pumphandle, and streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody is living on credit. A tourist visiting the area drives through town, stops at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs to pick one for the night.

As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his supplier, the Co-op. The guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit. The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner. The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the traveler will not suspect anything.

At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the $100 bill and leaves. No one produced anything. No one earned anything... However, the whole town is now out of debt and now looks to the future with a lot more optimism......

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how a 'Stimulus package' works! Are you stimulated, yet !!

J1ceasar 03-24-2021 05:53 AM

So true I'm in the same boat. However that being said they were so many other things wrong with the stimulus package do you know that out of 1.9 trillion dollars only 480 million was actually a stimulus check. If the entire amount was a stimulus check and we each beginning about $5,000 per person. Also I always hear let's make the income tax fair I e raise it for people making more money, well why was this not giving up proportionately to those making less? So that may be those making under $50,000 would get 10,000, those between 50 and 100 we get $5,000, those between 100 and 150,000 we get just $1,000. And if it was so damn important why did it take almost 12 months between the 2nd and 3rd checks, well we really do know why but I can't talk about it on here

Totally agree. Since the poster didnt qualify for the check and would be ashamed to take it anyway, I guess problem solved for them. Now let the rest of do what we want without comments from someone who doesnt even have a dog in this fight

J1ceasar 03-24-2021 05:58 AM

Absolutely correct in that this will will just add to the inflation we have. I really believe there should be a simple law saying any time of politician wants to spend money that is over and above the revenue it comes out of their pocket as a tax first and then he comes out of their capital. Trouble is a billion here a billionaire that really adds up

Ct has been in trouble for years since rowland worked out that MASSIVE sweetheart deal with the unions, primarily teacher's union that went to cover pensions & other fees. it's the elephant in the room that no one dare speak of. every year our taxes went up, one reason they said, to cover education. --right- meanwhile parents/teacher were picking our own pockets to cover basic supplies like kleenex & sticky notes. funding went to the unions as opposed to the students & imo that's ONE of the many reasons the state went under-& now the middle-class is gone. they have either super-wealthy, or impoverished, & now, here we are.

ALL Americans, including children - EVERYONE.

That's how much EACH of us, even those NOT getting the $1400 will owe to pay for Bill.
We much consider that much, if not all, of these $1.9 TRILLION be be DEBT. Owed by EVERY taxpayer. And of course THAT does not include the interest $$ to be paid over the decades upon decades.

Pile THAT onto the current Federal debt of $28 TRILLION ($85,000 for EVERY single American.

Am I worried for ME? Not really. Am I worried for our Kids, Grandkids, Great+++Grandkids? Yep. Pile on the debt Washington (BOTH parties). It's only money.

And as The USA will no doubt get weaker financially - China, well you know the story.

i read a good portion of the stimulus is going to foreign countries
