There financial problems existed long before Covid and now they are getting bailed out on the backs of responsible tax payers. Very sad. As far as the $2,800 stimulus my wife and I recently received, we will be needing at least that to cover the ever increasing price of gas and oil since the new administration has taken over.

The price of gas fluctuates based on many factors. During the last administration was no exception. For example: In Aug of 2018 it was over $3 how quick we forget & how quick we blame

Everyone has a different situation. If everyone could take one minute to realize that politics is not a part of the equation, you would understand all the different scenarios that are taking place right here in The Villages. How about all the widows and widowers here. Example, my husband died unexpectedly. We both worked hard and long to save for retirement. We paid in to Social Security and our employers did as well. Thank God we maximized our 401Ks and IRA’s to supplement SS. Then one dies and your SS income gets cut in half. You get theirs or yours which ever is higher. Now that is reality!! If you do not need the money, why don’t you donate it to the many families or local businesses that do. Send me your check, because my dream retirement changed drastically the day I lost my spouse and their are so many, just like me. Just look around your neighborhood and you will see how many of us are here. Our income level as individuals, was less than $75K. We have the same expenses as a couple, the same amenities fees, electric, phone, TV, golf fees etc. we do the best we can, living alone and trying to go on. The stimulus checks help some and they are a bonus for others. Everyone should use the money depending on their needs. Put it back in to the economy and it will grow.

You are correct, not everyone here needs it. So as mentioned, stimulate the economy or donate it. Help a charity who helps families who lost big time in this pandemic and if that’s not available there’s always little kids with cancer.

I don't qualify and if I did, I'd be ashamed to receive this ill-gotten freebie unless I truly needed it. Many people receiving this stimulus, especially "some" living in The Villages, don't need this money and this freebie will only increase inflation for the rest of us.

>> I don't qualify << Since the checks were to go to "everybody" would you please share with us why you don't qualify?

There are 1000's of couples living in The Villages with a paid-off house, no debt, tons of money in the bank, free paid medical insurance and as long as their gross adjusted yearly income is under $150,000, the couple will receive $2,800 in free US tax dollars. This is on top of the two prior stimulus checks they have received in the past six months.

I honestly believe those folks who need the money should be helped, but this stimulus money was not meant for people who didn't need it and for those people living in The Villages that meet this criteria and don't need the stimulus money are just scamming the rest of us.

The real scam is the 91% of the money form the American Rescue Plan the government is going to spend that has nothing to do what so ever with COVID relief. If they were really interested in helping people and stimulating the Economy they could have given $10K to everybody in the form of debit cards which could have been used to pay mortgages, rent or to go out and buy goods and services that would help employ people. In the end we probably would have saved a trillion dollars. This is typical of Washington. Throw the people a bone then pay off all your friends and supporters.

Then when all you well off donate your stimulus checks to the Wildwood Soup Kitchen and all the local pantries around the villages, you will fead your poor neighborhoods and get a nice tax deduction next year. I love America!

If you have a F-in problem talk to the idiots you voted into office. I’m not apologizing for my wealth. I worked for it. And for those who bash me get up off your a$$ and get a job

Enjoy your retirement, you have earned it.
There are all levels of success............the American way.
