The "rest" of the world is going through the same crap.......just more "under the "radar"

Not quite. However, the rest of the world, in particular the industrialized countries, have been looking at the US over the last four years and wondering "what happened to them?".

One person's insurrection is another person's fight back against a tyrannical government (looting excluded). All in your point of view. Just sayin' ...

I agree with many of the responses. I find these protests intimidating and frightening, even when they are just marching down the street chanting and shouting. The first amendment to the Constitution of the United States says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” No mention of a right to throw things, burn, loot, destroy, cause harm, intimidate.

HOWEVER, what I see in the responses shows me that we are playing into the hands of the terrorists. The goal is to get us so upset that we demand law and order, demand a violent crackdown by law enforcement in its various forms. Then millions who stayed home last time will be angry enough to protest, and more will take up arms. Then more of us will take up arms, and before you know it, it’s not cops trying to control protesters but us against them, armed. Then, whatever happens, the terrorists have won. Consider Iraq, Syria, Libya. We do not want that to happen here! We need peace, quiet, sober consideration, rational decisions. Less “activism” from both sides. These are our children, our relatives, our neighbors back home! We want things to be the way they used to be for us. They won’t ever be, but they can be close to it, and they can be good.

I experienced the civil rights protests of the sixties and the Vietnam protests on the pages of Life magazine and sometimes on the six o’clock news. I never saw a “Colored Only” drinking fountain or restroom or restaurant or hotel, though my grandfather preached in both black and white churches in the South every week. It was offensive. It should have been offensive to every American. You don’t find those things in the South anymore. The level of freedom and safety and fairness for African-Americans today was barely imaginable in the fifties. It was a dream. But we aren’t there yet. There are still things that need to change or be adjusted, and there are also changes they need to make that we can’t make for them. What those changes end up being isn’t yet clear. It won’t be as bad as we fear, but there will be change. We won’t have a permanent state of arson and looting. Things will settle down. But we need to talk, to hash things out, in a safe place, and work out some improvements, in the name of fairness. We are all Americans. America should be a place we all want to be. I know I want to be here!

Richmond, VA has been destroyed. Vulgar language painted everywhere. Burning, rioting, businesses closed, police not protecting the property owners.

I agree! No curfew is going to deter these mobs. Some people say these are merely people peacefully protesting. That is BS. Once people start throwing things they are not peacefully protesting, they are rioting. If the mayors can’t handle it then the fed gov has to step in. Yes time for the water cannons!

What I am surprised at is in some of these cities, for example Chicago, that the police chiefs have not said enough is enough. If the mayor does not have the courage or conviction to put and end to this destruction then they will put an end to it.

It's like a bunch of privileged white kids , primarily, pretending they are some type of comic book superheroes. A genuinely tyrannical government (which we do not have) would have wiped the protestors out by now with force. That's proof alone we don't have what they say they're fighting.

They should join the Marine Corps is they want to fight.

We hear a lot of anti capitalism and anti cops rhetoric. Why? Defunding the cops is only a small thing if you are Only trying to replace nonviolent calls with social workers. There is widespread agreement to that as well as police reforms. So why all the violence? A lot of it from young white people. Why all the anti capitalism rhetoric now? the radical groups are not going to let up “until they get what they want” ( “tear the system down” or “fundamental” change). Meanwhile, the left mayors and governors are not maintaining law and order for their own citizens and taking away the ability of the police to do anything about it. Why? Are they thinking for themselves or are the dem elites telling them what to do? It makes no sense to not be protecting your own city from violence and the feds would leave if they at least protected the federal buildings. The president has to protect federal buildings if they will not. Just make an announcement that peaceful protesting is fine, violence is not, arrests will happen, and it will be over. But they let it continue ...for over 60 days now. Police are resigning at alarming rates.

Another fact: BLM has said they follow a Marxist ideology and report into Thousand Currents which is headed by at least 2 radical communists. That you can check by researching it. Do you think what they are doing is bringing about more racial unity or less? Where is their money going? Is patriotism dying?

I agree what is going on does not make sense

The next step after destabilization is a crisis to throw things into chaos. I have seen a rumor that it will involve a federal agent doing something very bad. The point is that whatever “crisis” may be down the road- will it have been planned?

Sadly, in 2020, we do live in a new world. Will the rioting stop before “they get what they want”? What is it they want? Our choice may be between continued rioting, burning and militias or the far left. Time to watch closely what is going on.
