The Biden administration confirmed there is no plan nor consideration of a travel ban to quell the spread of the COVID-19 UK variant, despite a news report hinting that there is one.

Despite a headline that reads, “White House looks at domestic travel restrictions as COVID mutation surges in Florida,” the text of the article indicates no such detail.

The Miami Herald article published Wednesday afternoon quotes a White House official answering a question about the virus UK mutation: “...we’re having conversations about anything that would help mitigate spread.”

Several paragraphs later, the article quotes two other officials clarifying that “...no policy announcements are imminent, and that any move to restrict travel or impose new health measures would be taken in partnership with state and local governments.” No such contact has been initiated with Florida state nor local governments. But the headline, amplified nationwide, sparked a harsh, politically-tinged public backlash from Florida leaders at all levels who were unaware that no travel ban is under consideration.

Biden Administration confirms there is no plan for travel ban for Florida

Everybody wants to fight....no reason necessary

That is the official position AFTER they were caught strongly considering it. Fact check your information before post and look silly.

Nature is just trying to weed out the defective humans to improve the species and control the population.

We humans try to counteract Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection by passively and/or actively embracing reverse eugenics. Our misguided social programs support those who are lazy or unfit for work and allow them to reproduce like rabbits raising litters of babies who grow up to be lazy and unfit and then the cycle repeats. Finding cures for medical issues allows humans that are predisposed to an illness or condition to live and multiply.

It is only a matter of time before the human race suffers widespread hunger, dissolution of world order and possible if not probable extinction from overpopulation. It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!

As much as I sometimes wish that certain traits were eliminated from the gene pool, we are human beings with the ability to think and should do what is best, not what would naturally happen. The main problem today is the lack of common sense and true education instead of group think.

Allow it to work its way through the population? I got news for you, it’s a virus, and it’s going to go where it wants to go. Just like any other virus all we can do is react to it and come up with a Covid shot to counteract it just like we have done With the flu and others? Paranoia much?

Sneak across the boarder? You might be held in Mexico until your trial date.

The Governor is the person who makes that call!!! And we have a smart one he won’t!!! Just my thought ??

Cobullymom 02-13-2021 06:15 AM

Of course they were considering it, but DeSantis put an end to that, and yes that was fact checked. I don’t need the counter argument that was tried above...try changing your channels.

Good point! Let's see how willing he'll be to let "nature" take its course if it applies to his own health. :ohdear:

Agree

La lamy 02-13-2021 06:50 AM

I can't imagine Florida allowing travel restrictions with this current governor.

Let’s get real here......Look up the deaths per million FL so way down the list there are about 6 states almost dbl in deaths per million and FL is lower then the US as a whole......so again what is this really about
