There is new evidence coming out of Israel that the mRNA vaccines prevent the transmission of the virus. That is the best news to come our way about these vaccines. Dr, Fauci did make this announcement and I saw him on a news cast on TV saying that.

In addition, because of this new evidence, fully vaccinated people who have an exposure to a Covid positive person, DO NOT have to quarantine. To me, this means there is evidence that a vaccinate person can not transmit the disease.

This is what the CDC has on their website regarding vaccinated people not needing to quarantine if exposed to Covid. Take note of the 4th bulleted point...........

Interim Clinical Considerations for Use of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines | CDC

Just my opinion but if this latest evidence shows without a doubt that vaccinated people will not transmit the virus, there will be updated recommendations from Dr. Fauci. We just have to wait.

May want to read it again.....nothing in there says vaccinated people can't transmit, mostly because it hasn't been clearly determined. Still learning.
From the CDC Website: "It’s important for everyone to continue using all the tools available to help stop this pandemic as we learn more about how COVID-19 vaccines work in real-world conditions. Experts are also looking at how many people get vaccinated and how the virus is spreading in communities. We also don’t yet know whether getting a COVID-19 vaccine will prevent you from spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 to other people, even if you don’t get sick yourself. CDC will continue to update this page as we learn more." (Feb 19)

If we have not suffered the virus in a year's time and we still can't do all of the above - why be vaccinated? We must be doing something right by not becoming ill during that one year period!

There was concern that people vaccinated could carry the virus for a short period of time and infect other people even though they were not in danger themselves. That's why Fauci was cautious about throwing away the masks.

Lately there's been a push by certain people to make Fauci the scapegoat for everything from A to Z and some of us are apparently buying it. It does not reflect well on us.

Many times in the last year during Covid-19, I felt that Dr. Faucci was very informative, engaging, and presented information well. During the last months, my attitude has changed. I now feel that he is a Media hog, bends to political influence, and does not consider other factors impacting our overall "Health". There are many of Faucci quotes during the past 12 months that are confusing and erroneous.

But NOW I agree with Rubio> "Dr. Fauci is a very good public-health official. His job is to advise policy makers and inform the public," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said on Tuesday. "But his job is NOT to decide what we can do, where we can go or which places can open or close And his job is NOT to mislead or scare us into doing the 'right things.'"

And his floundering of opening schools and lockdowns- terrible.

But his LATEST --- Fauci on Sunday declined to say on CNN that grandparents who are fully vaccinated could see their grandchildren, saying "I don't want to be making a recommendation now on public TV. I would want to sit down with the team, take a look at that."

So, if Faucci represents "Science", that's fine - but just as important to the Medical HEALTH of US citizens is Financial Health and Emotional Health. I don't believe that he takes everything into consideration for us all in terms of OVERALL Health.

Side note> Do you know that Faucci makes more in salary than the US President?

I think of him as a hero.

👍
2021 and Science is still not trusted by some. So sad.

Yes, I know that. I did say to look at the 4th bullet point which indicates to me that a vaccinated person who is exposed to Covid does not have to quarantine. We are still waiting for definite word from the experts and organizations such as the CDC to let us know if in fact vaccinated people have a low enough viral load to not be able to transmit the disease. We must wait at this point to see if in fact the mRNA vaccines will prevent transmission in vaccinated people. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Exactly.

He chose to be silent rather than speak up.

No me, 100% respect for Dr.Fauci. The virus is not a constant and our knowledge and response change frequently.

Only when at least 80% of the population is vaccinated can we think about returning to normalcy.

All of the vaccines out there have an efficacy of around 95%. If you’ve been fully vaccinated you should behave like you’re one of the 5% until we hit the 80% vaccinated necessary for herd immunity.

He has been a joke from day 1. Most overpaid employee there is.

I think everybody is tired of hearing from him. Flip flop tell us what to do .

Really? All promotional material relating to the Covid-19 Vaccine is required to clearly and conspicuously state that this product has not been approved or licensed by the FDA, but has been authorized for emergency use by FDA.

Anyone who takes this vaccine is a voluntary guinea pig.

I don’t pay attention to one thing Dr. Fauci has to say. He’s been all over the place on everything. The way people like him staying businesses by keeping everything and everyone in turmoil. And I don’t wear a mask except for a doctor appointment which is very few and far between

Bridget Staunton 02-25-2021 06:35 AM

Don’t trust him anymore, although the CDC is a excellent organization. Once he moved into a government job he has trouble telling the truth and speaks out of both sides of his mouth.

elevatorman 02-25-2021 06:43 AM

Who do you trust?

If you don't believe what Dr. Fauci is saying about Covid-19, who do you believe?
CDC
WHO
Dr. Atlas
Your GP
Politician R
Politician D

I trust the science. I would listen to an epidemiologist speaking about Covid before a politician, general practitioner, or a blog post. I trust the CDC, WHO. and Dr. Fauci.
I believe Dr Fauci is the preeminent voice worldwide on Covid as well as many other communicable diseases.

scottiesrgreat@gmail.com 02-25-2021 06:47 AM

Selecting Dr. Fauci was an extremely poor decision, in my opinion. I am sure, in his day - which was back in the 80s - he was fine. But, no one can tell me - with all the great minds at outstanding universities and research institutions here in the US and around the world - not one other person on this earth - who has more recently achieved great accolades in the field - was equally or more qualified and established as a better and more consistent/reliable communicator! If Fauci (at 80 yrs old) is all we have as our go-to-person / expert - we are in some serious, really serious trouble.

BTW - I lost total confidence in Dr. Fauci when I saw him sitting at a baseball game - with others - no mask - after telling everyone they must wear a mask and remain locked down. I lost all credibility with him at that point..... also - I agree - his role is NOT to be the single voice directing our policies on how we can or can not live our lives. He has been given way too much power - by each President (Trump and Biden) in my opinion.
