Also tired of the WHO head administrator, Tedros Adhanom, who uses "Dr." BEFORE his name, I am sure with the intent to be taken for an M.D., and who, although head of public health in.... let's see, where was it, Ethiopia I believe, does not actually hold any M.D. or Ph.D. in a non medical/scientific field. Unfortunately, the people of our country, and many others, do not chose the most qualified or the most naturally gifted in medicine, research, the law, etc., no, we go for the self promoters, the ones who hire a behind the scenes publicist, even in academia. No, it's not quite the same as those who work as entertainment/Hollywood promoters, but it's the same principle. They guide you in how to promote some pretty flimsy articles based on very poor research perimeters, poorly designed studies, and then "promote" this garbage "science" with the smoke and mirrors that serve to impress the vast majority of citizens who have no idea what to look for in a well constructed research study.... the variables, the standard deviations, the margins of error and what that might mean, etc. Believe me, the "cream" does not naturally rise to the top, these folks are self promoters and plan every inch of their "career" rise. They know quite smugly, they are of course, "smarter than the average bear", kind of like the self promoting architect of the Obama medical plan.... remember him on the hot mike ? Too bad, most American's spend a lot more time and research into what color automobile they will buy, than who they catapult to the highest positions and offices, even when it comes to their HEALTH and their education and the education of their children. Don't think it is likely to change either, many could not care less.

Absolutely agree 100%...

You also replied to another post "Re-read...................a statement of fact is not condemning."

Yes, they are facts (partial) that lack context.

Early on, he said the USA has nothing to worry about.

Fauci said, “Obviously, you need to take it seriously and do the kind of things the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the Department of Homeland Security is doing. But this is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

Early on, he said wearing a mask is not necessary.

Dr. Fauci is an ego maniac with a Napolean syndrome. I wouldn't listen to him if he was the last doctor on earth. Should have been fired by Trump a long tome ago.

Wow all my life I put faith in GOD. Fauci is not smarter and did not keep me alive. The Lord above will help us. We just need to praise him.

Half million a year is lots of money to be paid, but he is good at keeping everyone confused. Lifer government employee.

Is he the only one who knows about COVID? I’d like to hear from other MDs and researchers please ..... why are we putting all the eggs in his basket?

Bingo

Peace, love and well wishes to all. Read and listen to what you see and hear about the virus. Consider all and take in what you want but know that Beliefs are hard to change and no one can change your beliefs but you. The virus is evolving just like the advise so what was said or promoted in the past may be changed now to attack the virus or viruses we are now facing. Nothing is static.

Stay safe!

Anyone who takes this vaccine is a voluntary guinea pig.

Yes, I'm aware the vaccines are not yet approved by the FDA and I would hope all people who are welcoming this vaccine are aware also. FDA approval will come along in good time, I believe. In the meantime, these mRNA vaccines are saving lives and have shown to also prevent the long haul effects of Covid. I spend half my time researching this information. I honestly try my best to pass on information from reliable sources.

I can not find any information on line about the vaccines preventing long haul side effects so I must have heard that from one of the resident doctors on a TV news source. I do remember being very encouraged by hearing about that.

Early on, the pooled information of the experts of the world was very limited.

Every single soul was bamboozled by this virus. Even people schooled in medicine admit to being surprised and not able to get information initially, simply because there was none.

Pandemics are not common and each has it's own symptoms and death tolls. People who counted dead bodies from this were unsure how to do it. People who treated people with Covid-19 had no background information on this different kind of pneumonia and blood vessels being clogged and seniors dying in higher numbers.

Fauci had a lot of background knowledge on all kinds of epidemics and lots of information on how viruses and bacteria affect people, but not any information on this one at the beginning. All medical people were floundering at the beginning. I think he did well, considering the political powers that had far less information being critical of his information.

All those involved did the best they could. Well most of them anyway. I am not a medical person. I am just an 81 year old observer of life and I have been gravely disappointed in people this last year by some, and had my faith renewed in mankind by others.

I am YOUR fan, DeWilson. I am also a fan of the OP, although we don't always see things exactly the same.

Isn't that the truth.
It seems the world is full of hate and lies!!

I'm the OP for this Fauci (now spelled right...) Thread. Interesting posts and feedback from many sides folks. But - I am not swayed to change my original views. And FYI - here's more feedback to support my "Fauci Fatigue".

------------------------------------------

Senior analyst Brit Hume laid into public policymakers Tuesday for appearing to solely rely on Dr. Anthony Fauci for guidance on the coronavirus pandemic and shutting out scientists from other fields.

"He’s an epidemiologist," Hume told Katie Pavlich of Fauci. "His job is to fight this disease. He’s not an expert in child psychology, or children’s education. He’s not an expert on whether cancer screenings can be postponed when there’s lockdowns that are affecting hospitals. He’s not an authority on the U.S. economy or the damage that may be done to it. He’s just not. That’s somebody else’s problem and it’s not his."

Hume then criticized governors who locked down their states last year based on Fauci’s ever-evolving messaging.

"When we as a nation turn over all of our policies [that] this pandemic touches upon or [is] touched upon by it, to a person with a very narrow focus, we end up with these insane lockdowns and we end up with collateral damage about which he seems unconcerned, because it’s not in his bailiwick, and we end up with the terrible problems that we’ve had," he said.

"When they talk about 'Follow the science,' the question becomes, which science? Economics is a science. Cardiology is a branch of science … If you only listen to some scientists instead of looking through a broader lens, you end up with the kind of policy decisions we’ve made. I think these lockdowns and the closing of the schools are the worst public policy decisions of my lifetime."

For much of the mainstream media, Fauci has achieved a kind of iconic status since the coronavirus and COVID-19 became a despised part of American life. But in a tweet on Tuesday, Hume issued a reminder of the limits of Fauci’s responsibility — and his expertise.

“Remember: his job is to fight the Covid outbreak,” Hume wrote. “He has no responsibility for children’s mental health or education. The economy is someone else’s problem. So are missed cancer screenings; suicides and other collateral damage from lockdowns etc.”

While Hume laid much of the responsibility at the feet of public officials, there was another group he called out.

"A great deal of responsibility for our unfortunate responses belongs with the news media, which has been terrible in this."

Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, seemed to say the existence and spreading use of the coronavirus vaccines would not mean a break from COVID-19 restrictions for the general population any time soon.

“There are things, even if you’re vaccinated, that you’re not going to be able to do in society,” Fauci said, according to Business Insider. “For example, indoor dining, theaters, places where people congregate. That’s because of the safety of society.”

Now, it’s “because of the safety of society”?

That’s the latest, nebulous line from Fauci, who might well be respected in his field for a good reason, but has squandered his credibility over his year in the public eye.

Hume is not the only one suffering from Fauci fatigue. (It would probably be harder to find a sane person who hasn’t had it with the doctor by now.)
