I find history interesting. All history is taught with a bias. WWII all Americans know we dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. How many Americans are aware Japan had a huge germ warfare program and they used it on China and on POWs. Or that Japan before the US entered the war conquered Nan King in China and killed more civilians than died due to BOTH atomic bombs.

As far as people and not believing. That too has existed throughout history. I recently read a book about the Wright brothers. Reminder the first powered flight was 1903. Many of their original letters still exist. They published that reporters feed on each others misinformation and they do not understand the science. Flight was a worldwide endeavor. There seems to be overwhelming evidence that COVID 19 is man made. A Chinese virologist that defected makes that claim and also claims China went to great lengths to cover it up. Plus there's research that contends the sequence of the genetic make of the virus has never been found in nature. A top Chinese spy master recently also defected and supposedly confirms the man made origin. That's just hear say at the moment as no info has officially been release relative to what he's divulging.

I think the escape from the lab was through negligence and not intentional. You have to wonder, however, why China locked down the citizens of Wuhan for travel inside China yet let them travel internationally.

I'll be skeptical of the deep state report unless it references information from the Chinese virologist and the Chinese spy master that also defected. I fear the report will be politically motivated rather than a true investigative document. Hope I'm wrong.

Gracie, you are being very naive in thinking that a government wouldn't do something dangerous that might cause illness or death in their population. Many governments have experimented with various chemical and biological warfare weapons in the past and chemical weapons (mustard gas) were used in WWI. During the Cold War nearly all countries were working on biological weapons around the clock.
Totalitarian governments like in China have no respect or concern for their population. China has re-education camps for dissidents and they also make people disappear never to be seen or head from again. Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia slaughtered millions of their own people. I don't trust our government any more than the others I have mentioned.

My wife stopped shopping at Walmart because of so many Chinese products there. Of course, Target, Home Depot, and all others have large stocks of non-American-made goods. And if the US COULD (?) organize a boycott (aka tea party) for all Chinese made goods, would US citizens be willing to pay the higher costs of the American made products - most senior citizens would be hurt the greatest with the higher prices because they are more likely to be on a fixed income.

Being the world's top 2 economies while still being each other's top trading partners is going to create huge nightmares of competition vs cooperation. Diplomats must keep up a difficult juggling act - miss a juggle move and WAR results. The Olympics was designed to bring counties together, so that alone has both upside and downside. The best strategy for the US would be to keep itself strong and NOT allow itself to fall apart internally! If we can't cooperate to fight a VIRUS, how can we successfully fight a HUGE Dictatorship?

Looks like North Korea and Eritrea are the only totalitarian countries in the world in 2021. China does have some checks-and-balances and the Olympics being there in 2022 create more of these. They will try to put on a good face to the world.

I believe that the Chinese are trying to get at the facts as best they can about the origin of COVID-19 because of all the attention brought on by the 2022 Olympics.

Now why would big business support that? There ones making billions and don’t even have produce it. We allowed it , condoned it and encouraged it. Well, we the peon’s didn’t, it took our jobs, made the middle class , lower class and the poor out in the street to become beggars. Don’t blame Walmart, target, or any other big business they only play by someone’s else’s rules. The blame IMO is our own federal government legislators who allowed it, condoned it, AND got paid from it.

And I have often wondered whether overpopulation (like in China) leads to a lower quality of life and therefore lower-valued life - can said overpopulation INCREASE the propensity for dictatorship in that country? Africa has high concentrations of population and many dictators. Japan before WW2 had a concentrated population and what could be called a military dictatorship. Hitler wanted more "living space". Joseph Stalin did NOT value life very highly even though The Soviet Union was sparsely populated in its eastern section. Not sure if this idea is true in all cases? Maybe, some TV Landers have a better knowledge of this possibility than I do?
