You don’t deserve to get a vaccine if you don’t believe that you should be wearing a mask.

What the anti vaccine zealots seem to ignore are the approximately 2.5 million, so far, who have died from this virus, with the potential for more deadly mutation variants. The risks of living in a world without the vaccine outweighs the dwindling risks of being treated by a vacine |

Couldn’t agree more
I am a retired RN. You took the words right out of my mouth and organized them in a very thoughtful manner. Thank you.

That's fine, your choice, however, because my wife has access to epidemiologists and research doctors, and doctors in charge of the medical health of others, which you have much more limited responsibilities, and they work with a research hospital which developed their own testing which eliminated nose swabs early last year, and I have acquaintances who have been responsible for some of the vaccine trials, who have many, many more letters after their name, starting with PhD in bio, I will get the vaccine,
So instead of media links, i have personal links, i will get the vaccine. YMMV |
Guys, you can research all you like, but vaccine passports are coming, just like Yellow Fever certificates are needed for some countries. If you want to go maskless on a plane you may make the no fly list.
Get over yourselves. Cutout the cable news and stop research the internet, enjoy life. |

okay, but...
1) Immune for HOW LONG? No one knows so how do you know?
2) NOT new vaccine technology - studied for 20 years and put into action for THIS SARS VIRUS when known to work for other SARS viruses. Stop spreading propaganda! 3) You are blessed that you only know people who were mildly ill. Many of us have had loved ones suffer ALONE in hospitals on ventilators and we have lost too may to a now preventable illness. Science WILL WIN! 4) Go right ahead - Darwinism at it's best! |

I am wondering if you were still a practicing nurse at this time, would you have taking all the recommended precautions at your job? I would think you would have, therefore you do believe that you could have possibly been reinfected. The following is a quote from the CDC five days ago. Currently, it is unknown if recovered persons are definitively immune to SARS-CoV-2 re-infection because biologic markers of immunity have not been correlated with protection from infection in humans.5 days ago Interim Guidance on Duration of Isolation and Precautions for Adults with COVID-19 I am not hysterical or irrational about my thoughts about the vaccine. When my doctor, the scientist, tells me to take precautions because of my health then I am going to do it. I believe in her more than I believe in you. |
Thank you. I have read enough to feel this is totally true. I will not go along with the lemmings fighting their way to the cliff.
|
Some information is being censored and taken down. The government and main stream media only report what they want you to hear. The CDC and FDA is part of government. You need to make your own decisions. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Love it. A coroner? Sound like your drumming up business. Registered nurse telling you that doctors, PhDs, immunologists, etc are wrong. Only in America. What a joke.

I hope this load of BS falls on deaf ears. Vaccinations historically effect some negatively but the benefits to the population as a whole far outweigh those very few. They stopped polio vaccination because the vaccinations totally eliminated it. It has already been shown that people who have had covid can get it again. In fact my grandson has had it twice and the second time, contrary to most who get it twice, was much worse. He gave it to his mother when he came home from college. It has been very rough on her. I think I'll trust the CDC on this before listening to some rambling BS. I sure hope everyone gets a vaccine so we can put this behind us and get back to normal.

I will admit I did not make it to the end of this because so many things came to mind while I was reading. I don’t think being in the medical field is enough for a person to know the most about the vaccine. I have researched this extensively and found first that your natural immunity only lasts a short time with Covid. This is evidenced by the fact in part that people have gotten it twice. I did hear you may be able to get by with one shot if you have had it.
This vaccine process has been in the making for over 20 years. It is not something that was developed over night. The MRNA does not enter your cells as works on the protein layer of the cell. I have a relative who has had a number of underlying conditions so would be very vulnerable to the disease and has had both shots and has done great. When you already have fluid in your lung you can’t take the chance of getting Covid! I am not a medical person but have researched this ever since the beginning. Finally the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is made a different way. I wanted the one with MRNA because I researched it but the other one may be your choice if you don’t trust it, which I do! Finally they don’t know if you can give it to someone if you have been vaccinated and recently I heard they are beginning to rethink this, however, they are wanting more evidence before they jump to that conclusion. The new mutations are here in Florida more than any other state. If I see someone out now without a mask, I don’t know if they have it or not. I will take my chances on a vaccine. If you have allergies then you have to be prepared with how to handle that issue before you get a shot. |
You are an idiot plain and simple. Stay away from me.
|
Not sure what to think anymore. Most of our neighborhood had covid and we're all advised by their doctors to get the shot
|
I’ve had COVID and also decided to receive the vaccine. It was my choice based on available information and data. I am thrilled to have received both injections.
I’ve encouraged all family members to receive the vaccine as soon as they are eligible and able. Most decisions in life are a balance between risk and reward. In this case I believe it is in my and my families best interests to receive the vaccine if able to. Each of us are free to evaluate the risk vs benefit equation and make choices. Don’t get it if you don’t want it. There are a lot of people who do want the limited supply. |
I had Covid-19 last March and recently gave blood. I still have the antibodies for the virus. Researchers are still learning about this virus and will be learning more for years to come.

Those who wish to get the vaccine should do so and those who do not should not be forced to do so or be condemned for not getting it. Natural transmission and resistance will determine the outcome.

I got my second Pfizer vaccination this morning at Groveland. What a relief! In a couple weeks I’ll be able to go out to dinner without worry and even go dancing at the square. Next month I can go see my 92 year old father I haven’t been able to see in over a year. |

Your natural immunity may protect you for a while but not necessarily from the strains and mutations that are occurring out of South Africa and the UK. You have the right to your own opinion and choice about being vaccinated but I don’t think you should be trying to convince others one way or another.
|
Have you never heard the word "variant?" I don't recall seeing in your post. What about the medical community that is finding cases now where people had Covid-19, recovered, then came down with the UK variant or the South African variant? Some getting seriously ill the second time. Apparently the body doesn't see the regular old virus as being the same as the new variants and has no immunity from the new ones...at least in some people. I also saw recently that the same thing was happening in Brazil, with it's new variant, at an even higher rate than in the US.

Facts: People who have been infected can get re-infected. The apparent immunity from a natural, mild infection is only a few months. While many people may only experience mild symptoms, there are a large number that experience worse symptoms and there are now almost 500,000 Americans dead from Covid. The long term effects of infection are just starting to become apparent and they can be devastating. By not getting vaccinated you risk being infected and then transmitting the disease to others, especially your own family who may suffer more severe consequences. The vaccines have proven to be safe and effective. If you have allergies then consult with your physician. If you carry an epi pen, make sure that the people administering the vaccine know, they monitor everyone for at least 15 minutes and for longer if requested or if you have a history of allergies. The vaccine has now been administered to millions of people and the adverse effects seem to be minimal and similar to other vaccinations. You can NOT get COVID from either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine because neither one contains the virus in any form. I am a PhD chemist with over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry. |
Thank you

Can You Get COVID-19 Twice? Experts Explain How New Coronavirus Strains Affect Immunity |
Thanks to the OP for his post. There are many people that agree with you as 30% of the population in the US say that they will not get the vaccine, and there are many people who clearly feel differently. I have gone into anaphylactic shock on two different occasions which is very scary, and I definitely have concerns about getting vaccinated thus I may be one of those who decide against the vaccine.

IGNORANCE IS BLISS!! Bet you're a happy camper. You can believe what you want to. Letters after a name don't give you credibility except in your own eyes.

I find it distressing when a nurse with only a 2-year associate's degree makes the kind of claims and assertions you did, statements that many people take as fact. I am a PhD-prepared nurse who has been a Vice President of several hospitals as well as a Dean and Vice President of Nursing in several universities and colleges. I have developed and directed nursing programs at all levels from associate degree to bachelor's and master's degrees as well as doctoral programs. Once students are beyond the associate degree level, we have them take courses in research and evidence-based practice, which are not generally offered in associate degree programs. This background in the scientific method and evidence-based practice. This foundation allows more advanced nurses to read scientific literature in peer-reviewed journals with an appropriately trained eye and evaluate the data presented in them. While I appreciate your credentials, the way you state them makes you sound more highly educated than you are and can be misleading to the public who are not as aware as I am about the levels of nursing education and the level of content they each contain. I have done--and published--articles and research in several peer-reviewed journals over many years. Without appropriate citations to the literature, your statements become opinion, not fact. For fact-based and research-based recommendations about COVID and vaccines, I suggest reading Dr. Mirkin's regular articles in the online Village News. He analyzes--and provide the citations for--specific articles from the scientific literature that support the value of vaccination, even for those who have had COVID (which I have had). Carol S.
