Whenever there is a 'mass shooting' it's huge news for a few days, as the nut killing 10 in the Boulder, CO store over a week ago and the Atlanta nut killing 8 around Massage stores. Yes horrible and deserves wide coverage.

But, DAYS after (last week) in a PUBLIX supermarket in Atlanta THIS ocurred>

An Instacart shopper believed he heard someone loading guns in a bathroom stall.
Police arrested a man with 6 guns

(CNN)An Instacart shopper who entered an Atlanta supermarket bathroom this week told police he saw an AR-15 style rifle and heard what he believed was the sound of someone loading guns in a bathroom stall.

The witness rushed out of the bathroom and notified staff at the Publix Supermarket. When police arrived soon after, they arrested a suspect as he was exiting the bathroom -- with six loaded guns in his possession.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Rico Marley, now faces a slew of charges related to the incident, which came just days after 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado.

According to the police incident report, Russell was entering the men's restroom when he "heard clicking sounds from the bathroom stall."
"It sounded to him like someone was loading firearms," an Atlanta officer wrote. "He also told me that he saw an AR-15 style rifle leaned against the wall."

After arresting Marley, police recovered six firearms: a DPMS AR-15-style rifle, a 12-gauge Maverick Arms Modell 88 shotgun, three semi-automatic 9 mm pistols and a .38-caliber revolver. All of the weapons were loaded and the rifle, shotgun and three 9 mm pistols all had a round in the chamber, according to the police report.
The suspect, who was wearing body armor when he was arrested, had the four handguns in his clothing while the rifle and shotgun were being carried inside a bag, the report says.

Att is a police photo of his loaded weapons. Imagine if that guy didn't hear the noise in the bathroom and alert police? yikes.
My reasoning for posting this is:

Why wasn't this HUGE nationwide news?
I happened upon this on a Yahoo news feed a couple days ago, googled and found this CNN article, and some others.
...only supposition I could arrive at was the 'suspect', that he didn't fit the 'Media's' model of the "typical" mass shooter to exploit.

It depends on who the target was going to be. Since January, outrage against shootings is only if the targets are certain groups of people. The majority are OK to target so not newsworthy.

Doesn't fit the narrative that's been presented since January...

you are outgunned with a pistol when confronting an idiot with an assault rifle. like the cop that got killed

Chicago is the shining example of tough gun control laws. Also a poster child for killings. About 30 every weekend.

Only the law abiding citizens follow the law and are disarmed and defenseless from the thugs

Gun control means easy pickings for armed criminals

one last thing gun owners. they are not going to do anything like take our guns away. talk, talk, talk, if they haven't done it by now. they never will. they don't really care because every shooting is a political gain for someone, and a political loss for someone else....
the joke is on the American people...

How about the 2 teenager girls that killed the Uber driver in DC by using a taser this past weekend. If you even heard about this they blame the Uber driver, not the girls.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

I saw the video of this "event" last night on the news. It almost made me sick to my stomach - really. 2 "girls, 13 & 15 walked up to a car and tazed the driver. As he was pleading for them to stop, holding onto the car side, they sped off and crashed the car a couple blocks later - car rolled over and pinned the man, died. Mohammad Anwar, 66, was making deliveries for Uber Eats.

He was a Pakistani immigrant - WORKING. These SCUM girls - of course most articles re this NEVER mention their race. You KNOW if it WAS a "RACE THING", Media would... Just to show the "girls" concern, after the crash with the car on its side with the man pinned - all one said was "My phone is inside!".

A horrible story. Wonder if Pakastanis will protest, riot, etc because of this ouright murder? sure...

here's an article re>>>>

OH- to make matters worse, after the "killing">
WASHINGTON — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is facing backlash for a tweet over the weekend that some are calling tone deaf.

The tweet, from the mayor's official Twitter account, read, "Auto theft is a crime of opportunity," and included a video of Metropolitan Police Department officers giving tips to prevent auto theft and carjackings.

The tweet has since been deleted, but it faced swift criticism online, in light of a recent carjacking that left 66-year-old Muhammad Anwar dead.

"Mayor Bowser keeps finding new lows," one user wrote. "Immigrants and citizens of DC deserve better."

I find it interesting that this dummy has heard Biden, Harris, Feinstein, Beto (who Biden is putting in charge of the "gun problem") all say that want to ban and take away certain guns...

But nobody wants to take your guns...

There's a very nice quad-graph to explain how incidents are handled.

CRIME WITH A GUN:
If the perpetrator is a conservative, then it's right-wing extremism.
If the perpetrator is a progressive, then the gun is at fault.
If the perpetrator is white, then it's right-wing extremism.
If the perpetrator is anyone else, then the gun is at fault.

In the state of Georgia, where this occurred, the only law broken was carrying the firearm while loaded out of the bathroom. It was LEGAL to bring the unloaded firearm INTO Publix. It was LEGAL to bring ammo INTO Publix. It was legal to carry both items around the store, and into the bathroom. That is 100% totally completely legal in Georgia, without any permit required. That is Georgia law.

The only thing that was illegal was him loading the firearm and walking out of the bathroom with it after it was loaded.

He never fired the rifle, there was no mass shooting.

In the state of Georgia, this is a non-issue. This is what THEIR 2A rights look like, in Georgia.

This is nonsense. Nobody is coming for our guns... this thread like many has turned political and I’m sick of making everything political. Give it a rest.

Lol... by what logic do you assume this is true? The United States is one of the few countries that still allows guns. Do you remember in Australia when they banned guns and literally confiscated them? Millions and millions of guns... they went door to door taking guns from residents: Thousands of Australian Guns are Destroyed (1997) - YouTube

You have politicians LITERALLY SAYING they're going to take our guns.

The SOLE purpose for the 2nd Amendment isn't for hunting, or because people like to collect and buy guns, it's because the population needs to defend themselves AGAINST a tyrannical government, and against foreign invaders. Period.

Sadly, those are the things that gun owners are NOT using them for. They're using them to kill other American citizens. They're using them to rob banks. They're using them to hijack peoples' cars. They're using them to kidnap children. They're using them to shoot into crowds. They're using them to express their hatred of [insert whatever they hate here].

They're not using them to defend against a tyrannical government, and they're not using them against foreign invaders.

So basically, you feel everyone should carry weapons for reasons that have nothing to do with why they were allowed to have them in the first place.

Personally - I have no problem with people owning firearms. I'd like universal background checks, I'd like mandatory federal licensing that requires that you take an actual test, I'd like mandatory classroom and target instruction. I'm absolutely pro-2A. But I'm also absolutely pro-personal responsibility, which unfortunately too many gun-owners refuse to accept. And because the few ruin it for everyone else, I feel we need more CONTROL over who gets to carry legally, and who will be criminals simply by virtue of the fact that they possess one.

This way the illegal gun-owners who commit crimes with those illegally-owned guns, will have more severe consequences than those who owned their firearms legally.

I disagree completely. Media wants one thing, and one thing only - to maximize profits.

Every article, every spin on every article is evaluated for how much money it will make.

very media outlet has a target market, some focus on. liberals and some focus on conservatives. Few, if any, try to cater to both, because they would lose their audience if they did.

And lastly NO ONE (in general) wants to hear/read the truth. The vast majority of people scan headlines and only read articles that confirm what they already believe.

A few, a very small number, of people actually go out of their way to read news they disagree with,.

Gun owners are doing that? All of them? Or are you talking about "ILLEGAL" gun owners?

I've got a crazy idea... How 'bout we start enforcing those laws already being broken before we start passing new laws that they not enforce?

You may -think- you're "absolutely pro 2-A, but you're not even close...

All those things you'd like cost $$$... Lot's of $$$

So, you're in favor of a "poll tax" for gun owners, disenfranchising the poor from being able to purchase a gun to defend themselves...

Just curious, what are your views on Voter ID? Is it "too burdensome" or even, dare I say, "RACIST" to require an ID to vote?

Does it disenfranchise poor voters or minority voters?
