Well, considering their sales are down 26%, I'd say they missed the boat on whatever "research" they did...

Personally, I think it was just a "let's show how progressive we can be" gambit that failed, miserably...

What THEY are doing is the exact opposite of cancel culture: inclusion and diversity.

You're cancelling these things, because they include them and it upsets you I guess, even though it seems to have absolutely zero effect on you personally.

Bwahahaha!

Who do you think started the "cancel culture" wars? Inclusion and diversity, only if you agreed with us...

But now that they're getting a taste of their on medicine, it's suddenly a problem?

Aw, c’mon, manaboutown has now put a link to Breitbart! (Sp?). Wowzer, TOTV is now entering the Q zone.

Moderator, please wake up — I mean that literally not figuratively. We don’t need to have TOTV turn into just another pile of internet $#i+.

I admit, I attempted a little debate in a different thread. Lost cause. I went back and cleared out my last post.

Please make this circle….. stop.

Thank you.

Well, fake news main stream media bury such information. Here is more on the situation. Target Faces Backlash Over ‘Pride’ Collection Designer Behind ‘Satan Respects Pronouns’ Shirts | The Daily Wire

and there's more from Target...and it involves infants and children! Target's 'tuck-friendly' swimwear for kids sparks controversy

GOD will judge us all the same for what we have done. I hope this helps ease everyone's pain towards a subject that is actually meaningless. Do not buy the product. This is best way to hurt company. Sell off your stock in it. Vote for better government officials. Make sure that they will help all in the state of Florida and not just themselves because they are trying to promote themselves.

I try not to shop Target but they sell certain items I like or need so I shop there on occasion. My daughter loves to shop at Target.

Early last June I even bought some Target stock along with Walmart as they both had taken hits. The Target stock has gone nowhere; the Walmart stock has enjoyed a nice gain.

Yep. Virtue signaling plain and simple. There is no reason to advertise to such a small fringe group; the cost of the ads can't be covered by such a small potential increase in sales, if there even is any.

It looks like peak wokeness is behind us. There is clearly some pushback, and now that the anti-woke are realizing that resistance is not futile (see Bud Light), there will be more and more pushback.

And now, they have the same "Pride Line", labeled "tuck friendly" and "light binding" in the children's department...

But no, no one is targeting children...

There's a lot of old male geezers who should be investing in "tuck friendly" swimwear. Them saggy nasty plucked-chicken-skin thangs need to just - not be made available for public viewing.

And yet - we see those spreads when we walk by on our way to a chair at the pool, and they can't be unseen.

Do not understand the big deal with this? We have a lot more serious matters on our hands than men wearing women's underwear or whatever is involved in advertising bathing suits.

I do not want to get in trouble for getting political. But. Bathing suits! Really?

Kind of surreal for Adidas to get "woke." Nazis ran the company. Pride people were sent to work camps or killed in those times. Ok, I suppose this is 'change-culture' of another kind.

I totally get it. I mean, first you have a man in drag posting a twitter pic of himself with a Bud Lite. Then Target have public restrooms for "whoever" needs to go to the bathroom. Then you start seeing photo shoot ads for designer swimsuits worn by guys with big crotch-bulges and no breasts. THEN Target starts selling products with rainbow designs on it.

You know this can only end in one thing:
Women wearing pants.

This has to stop, now, or our country will be doomed forever.

BTW: I just did a google search on Jack Lalane, and then on 1930's men's swimsuits. I knew I didn't misremember Jack rocking a spandex leotard. And the swimsuits from the 1930's for men - the one I remembered seeing was called a Y-back one-piece "with skirt" - it had a little butt-covering skirt over the back. Totally crazy how no one accused them of dressing like women then.

Because it's a lie. The more a lie is accepted, the next lie becomes easier to promote and inculcate. Live and let live is apathy. Who cares as long as it doesn't impact me? That's kind of selfish self-imposed ignorance that allows others to take advantage, and when it's too late, you wake up and find things being imposed on you that you that you are suddenly very concerned about but unable to do anything about. Read 1984.

There existed no such advertisement. Bud Lite didn't have an ad with Mulvaney. Anheuser-Bush didn't produce an advertisement with Mulvaney. THAT is the lie. And everyone who is screaming holy murder about how horrible it is, and boycotting Bud Lite because they believe this lie, are all the people who are buying the promotion and inculcation of lies.

So anyone know of someone who has a child or friends that is of the “Pride” community? Guessing or really hoping it would be a “NO”.

One worries about ad placement, while mental health, and gun violence is on the rise. That’s what worries me, those who need help and can’t or won’t get it. Those who choose to destroy lives just for fun.

Ad placement doesn’t has never made me run out and buy something, or stop buying something that I have bought for years.

I have to ask if your child, or grandchild is of a different lifestyle, than you believe in, would you disown them, hate them, make them disappear from your life, as if they didn’t exist?

Two Bills 05-23-2023 04:18 AM

As a young kid, my Grandma knitted my first swimming trunks.
Looked passable when dry.
Wet?:ohdear:
Plenty of crotch space, and my knees were well protected from the sun which was a bonus.
Never been a beach person since.
Scarred for life.

Silly questions.................a parent would not.

But a parent might assist them with getting help.

:sigh:

Causey 05-23-2023 07:41 AM

None of this debate matters to me or affects my life.
Well, except for one thing. Advertising is EVERYWHERE, and its meant to be. Some of it is meant to be subliminal, most is meant to be right in your face and in a big way. Corporations spend billions of dollars on this curious thing called advertising, because they know it works to sell their products.
The people that say "it doesn't affect you, just let it go" are brainwashed fools that can't think for themselves.
These corporations need to take the "negative results, as well as, the positive results" of their advertising dollars spent.
I will decide how to spend my money the way I see fit, and apparently a lot of Americans are realizing we can affect how companies project themselves to us. We are the vast majority, with the vast majority of money to spend. Be careful what you wish for.

Probably the best long time neighbor I ever had is a lesbian. One of my former wife's nieces, a wonderful lady, is a lesbian married to another by Justice Sotomayor.

A couple real estate brokers I have bought properties from are gay men.

I could go on but won't. These and others are fine folks.

When the ad placement targets children, I draw the line...

And yes, I have several friends, and friends with children who are part of the "Pride Community"...

Not sure why you would guess or hope I didn't...

I have zero desire to "disown them, hate them, make them disappear from my life, as if they didn’t exist"...

Quick story... We have friends, who's son is gay. I've know him since he was a baby...

When he "came out" his parents called to tell us. My response was "I know"...

They were surprised and asked how I knew. I replied, "because I know Josh! I've know him forever..." The said, "We just wanted to make sure you were okay with it..."

I replied "No one cares, he just Josh..."

A few months later we went to Iceland with that couple. On every single tour, at every single restaurant, they felt the need to ask, "How is it for gay people here, in Iceland?"

They got the exact same answer, each and every time. "No one cares".

Yet, they felt the need to keep asking... It became a bit much after a while...

Seems to me, THEY were the ones with issues about their son...
