Default Dryer vent fix in Beauregard CYV.

Didn’t like way my dryer vented, the vent was 8 3/4” off set and dryer in corner and behind kitchen door in Beauregard CYV. Flex hose was disaster, not room enough for the bends. Tried the offset adjustable sheet metal duct but that also limited air flow. So I put dryer on adjustable platform where the two vents would align straight using aluminum flex duct. No bends or curves, air flow straight through to outside now with maximum flow. IMO reduced lint buildup up and makes dryer work more efficiently with maximum air flow.

I like your fix, interesting that the dryer vent connection was not recessed to be flush with the wall like ours.

BETTER VENT...

That and a 4" 90 degree pvc dryer vent elbow from Lowes for less than $10 with a length of vent pipe and a 4" clamp.

IMPORTANT to know: For electric dryer only. Our dryer is in garage and we have a screened garage.

supplyhouse.com has better price than Amazon..... but Amazon Prime ships for free. Filters are better price on Amazon. We hit the filter every other load with shopvac. Toss in garbage approx. every month($1) We have been using about 2 years and it works fine. Old vent was up thru the roof and didn't like C.W. climbing ladders to clean.

If it works, great. But, I would have never raised up my dryer. Another solution would have been to buy a recessed vent box from Amazon and installed it inside the wall. But, the builder should have done that in the first place. If the house is still under warranty, I would call the warranty department.

Thanks for the responses and recommendations. I looked at all the options. Raising the dryer was the cheapest and efficient way doing it for my situation due to limited space for connection. I had 90 degree sheet metal telescoping vent that adjusted to different heights, but it slowed down the air flow and created pockets for lint to build up. This set up is straight through the wall and vent outside crating maximum air flow from blower. I’m just glad the dryer vent doesn’t exit through the roof. IMO the most worse design ever. The platform was around 30 bucks and aluminum flex vent was 4 bucks. I had the clamps. The problem I have was 8 inches to work with to be able to open door leading into garage cause the dryer beside the door wall. Then, there the 2 1/2 inches dryer wall vent sticking out. I was going to build wooden platform but price of plywood is outrageous, then there the time and labor constructing it

Don’t have to bend down so far now getting cloths in and out.

In my situation that would never work plus heat up the garage. I have to pull out the washer and stuff myself between wall and just to get to vent. I sure the indoor vent would have to clean out occasionally? But in winter heat in garage would be good thing.

On the model I have I cut a few inches off the back of the dryer metal casing and slid the blower shaft to align better with the wall.

Where we’re coming from (Calif) we have to have the gas dryer raised on a platform per code when it’s located in the garage. We love it because using it is so much easier on our aging backs. We’ll do the same in TV once we have our own home.

I think this is the platform on Amazon.
