Default Getting rid of coffee stains in the mugs

I learned something new this week about cleaning out coffee stains in coffee mugs. Here i have been soaking my mugs in vinager all of these years and when my son came to visit us he said why does it stink like vinager. I told him that I cleaned out my coffee mugs. He said why stink up the house and the mugs when you can take a mr clean eraser and clean them. I then took out some more mugs that were not cleaned yet and lo and behold the stains came out. No stink. Thought I would pass this around if anyone has never heard of this. He showed me many other ways to use a Mr Clean Eraser and here I was only using it to clean black marks off of the walls. I thought I would pass this along

My first thought when I saw the title of your post was Mr. Clean Erasers! I always try them first! They are wonderful.

Baking soda also works for coffee stains. I also love magic eraser but try not to use it on anything that is used in food consumption.

Denture cleaner, like Fixodent tablets, also works wonders and is safe for food containers.

Also, if you put tomato sauces in plastic containers, spray with Pam first -- keeps the red from staining the container.

I use denture cleaner tablets. Great for a thermos, too!

Default Coffee Stains

I use Cascade dishwashing liquid straight from the container on a brush or cloth to wipe the stains right off. Works immediately and safely. Then just place the mug in your dishwasher to finish.

Thanks for some more helpful hints. After I did my mugs with the eraser I put them in the dishwasher.

We used to have an accumulation of cups in the sink where I worked. The guys in the office didn't clean up after themselves very well. One day I went into the kitchen and scrubbed all of the coffee mugs. Many with dark brown stains from years of use. You'd of thought I committed murder. They were so upset that I had scrubbed off all of the flavor from their mugs! I never did that again!

I don't exactly understand it either. I rinse out the coffee cup and put it in the dishwasher. Never had a problem with coffee stains, even if I let half a cup of coffee sitting around for half a day.

Bleach and water of Clorox clean-up. Then either hand wash or throw in the dishwasher.
