Default Golf cart canvas repair - help!

Have a tear (about 3") on our golf cart canvas on the side........any suggestions on repairs?

I was thinking maybe a patch would do it but can't seem to find any other than iron on and isn't an option.......

Thanks!

You could try calling an awning fabrication shop. They could sew it for you.

Depending on the age of the cart, condition of the fabric, I might do it myself. Newer cart and cover I would send out. The Villages Golf cart repair has a person that does nothing but that type work.

Older cart and fabric, I would go to Jo-Anns Fabric, buy a small piece of sail cloth as close to the right color as possible, heavy duty thread, and make and sew the patch myself.

they sell a waterproof liquid that you can cover up the stitch with.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Was hoping to find someplace (Jo-Ann's doesn't sell) a stick on patch of some type. But, may have to resort to sewing it, or getting it done, best solution.

Did look at the waterproof liquid but I understand you need to adhere it to another piece of fabric.

Not giving up! For all the suggetions.

Another option: Call Cliff (JC Canvas) 352-348-6589 He's made most all of Carts & Clubs' enclosures recently. He does "house calls" - at least he came out to our place in TV last month for a small bit of warranty work on our enclosure. He might be able to give you some ideas over the phone if nothing else.

You can try an iron-on patch that they use on blue jeans. Available at WalMart, and iron it on the inside of the tear.

They are north of Marion Flea Market on the left....They do excellent work and are prompt and reasonable...352-693-3376...Highly recoimmend....Most enclosures can be removed and transported but they do "pick-up"
