Holes in Stucco?
What's the best way to put a small hole in stucco? I need to help a friend hang a wreath on her wall.

hole in stucco
Just use a small masonry bit in a drill. Then insert a plastic anchor and screw in a screw to hang the wreath on.

I'm not trying to be cute, but I think a small MASONRY drill bit needs to be used.

Okay, I have enough drill bits to choke a horse (and really only use two of them). How do I know what a masonry bit looks like? New one on me. sigh Of course, something tells me that I don't have one. So, the next question would be -- does someone have a masonry drill/bit I can borrow?

Maybe this will help you sort through the drill bits you have to see if you already have the correct one:

Also, after you drill the hole, be sure to put something in it right away, or you could find yourself faced with stucco mites.

Just wondering how hard stucco really is. Wonder if regular drill bit might work. Small bits not that expensive, might be worth a try and report results back to forum.

Stuco is soft but the concrete block behind it is very hard...wood bit will not work

Oh, forgot about that. Go with the carbide tip then. If you can borrow drill that has hammer-action, that would go faster.
