Default recessed pot light bulbs

has anyone replaced the recessed light bulbs with LED bulbs which cuts down on the heat from the bulbs and saves energy. In the long run it may save money.

Thanks

If you can find an LED bulb that puts out the brightness of the recessed light bulbs I would be glad to give it a try.

I go blind (dim wise) when I turn on the lights in the rooms where I have replaced the incandescent bulbs with the LED bulbs.

We replaced the lights in our kitchen with some CFL bulbs that have a bright, white color. They still need some time to get fully bright, but they are definitely brighter than the old CFLs we had. And they are much cooler than the regular floods. We got them at Home Depot.
